Re: Anyone charter buses...
We had to rent buses to take our OOT guests from ceremony to reception AND reception to hotel as many were foreigners and OOT's. They threaten and complained not to attend our wedding if there were not transportation provided. We rented a limo bus from Ultimate Class Limo who are featured as a vendor here to take them from ceremony to reception. We then also rented a charter bus to take these high-maintenance guests from our Queens, NYC reception to their snotty hotel--Waldorf-Astoria which they refused to stay at one of ours. They refused to spend the money to hail a cab but yet have the money to spend and stay at a luxury hotel because they think it's the bride and groom's responsiblity to provide transportation to OOT because they think DH and I 'owe' them for travelling far and wide to attend our big day. DH and I as the bride and groom owe our guests NOTHING!

Re: Anyone charter buses...
We will be. We are calling Peter Pan, Academy, Atlantic Express and a few other bus lines.
I do feel it's my responsibility to provide transportation for my guests. I am not providing for ALL of my OOT guests. Some are staying up in the Bronx near us with friends and some may stay in Long Beach. The ones staying in the Bronx, as well as any friends living up there that don't want to drive (I don't want anyone drinking and driving either). We will have the bus get them at 3:30pm - the wedding is on LI at 5pm and b/c bus cannot go on parkways it will take twice as long for bus to get there. Then from church to reception and from reception back home.
The guests staying in LB, if they choose to, can have a taxi drive them to the Church and they can go on the bus or hitch rides with other guests to the hall.
HOwever, no one demanded that I provide transportation. I figured that these taxis from the Bronx won't know where they're going and I don't want 20 taxis getting lost in LI or Queens or wherever. Not that the bus can't but Im hoping the driver will know a bit about LI and how to get to the Church (I'll give detailed directions as well).
