Anyone conceive sucessfully while diagnosed with PCOS? Would love to hear your story about fertility. (M)
I was diagnosed with PCOS 3 years ago. I have a wonderful FH but having children appears to be difficult. I mean 5 years and never once a pregnancy scare! I am working with an endo, but was looking for some glimmer of hope from people that were able to get pregnant. TIA

There is hope, my friends! PCOS is more of a pain in the butt than anything else. I was taking 1500 mg of Glucophage/day and was being monitored by a terrific RE, and I got pregnant within 6 months. I had no IUI or invitro attempts, but that is always an option. As my RE told me, You WILL get pregnant. It just may take longer than other people to happen.
If you ever have any specific questions, please feel free to ask ANY time.

You can have polycystic ovaries and NOT have PCOS. Some of the symptoms are lack of ovulation, excessive facial and body hair, unexplained weight gain, and insulin resistance.
Here's a great site if you want to read more. PCOS

I have PCOS also and while I am not married yet I have told FH about this syndrome and that it may take awhile for us to conceive.
Jennrenee - so glad you posted about this. It is something that unfortunately doctors don't know much about and there is no cure.
You have given myself and others with PCOS the smile and inspiration we needed. I feel so much better about TTC in the future.
I wish you and all others who are TTC all the best!

Another gal with PCOS here, but I'm still a few years away from TTC. Another great site with message boards is: Soul Cysters
