Anyone dealing with IRS and childsupport with FH?
Need some insight...FH has a daughter from a past relationship that he has support taken right from his check for. Well a few years back he lost his job after we had a car accident and I had quit my job due to injuries. So we moved in with inlaws because of course money became very tight if not at all. Anyhow, even though he still sent his daughter stuff and paid for things as far as school clothes and things she needed(she lives in Fla. now)he fell behind in the court ordered support. Well now he is due a big refund which we notified childsupport about so they could take what is owed in arrears first. Well we were told we would get a letter in the mail from the IRS which we havent gotten and the IRS site and automated number says it was processed and will be received by May 3rd. Nothing yet! Does anyone know how long this might take? I know his daughter wont receive the check until 3-6months after because of childsupport but how long will the balance of our return be held up. Also when do they stop taking the arrears out of his check and do they do this automatically? Any info would be helpful. Thanks so much.
