Re: Anyone do the Poconos thing before?
i went their for our engagement... it was fun... different then what i expected but had a blast
we didnt go all out on the room... somthing in the middle to high range.... I would stay away from Paradise Stream as this resort always kids. Ceasres Palace is the closest and Cove Heaven is the furthers (but nicest)

I've stayed at Paradise Stream in the past, and although I didn't experience kids there....I've heard Cove Haven is certainly the nicest.
Definitely get the breakfast in bed!! Not only is it nice and romantic, but i liked it because I really didn't want to make conversation with mass people during meals.

We also went to the Poconos Palace for a weekend getaway a couple years ago. I think we booked online--DH got a code with his credit card to get a % off. We had the room with our own pool, which was amazing! It was fun, but got a little boring after a couple days. Also, breakfast and dinner are included, BUT they sit you at dinner with 3 other couples. It was hard to have a romantic meal while having to make small talk...

We go to Cove Haven at least once or twice a year. We love it & it can be a lot of fun.
Book through their people directly, and tell them that you are honeymooners (sometimes they can get you an upgrade or some free stuff, but not always). It takes us about 2 hours to get there, but we usually leave really early. If you get there before check in, you can still use the grounds.
Have Fun!
ETA: We usually go in a group, so I have never been 'seated' with people I didn't know, but I have seen this. If you want to avoid this at Cove, we just sit at the Bar when we get our food.
I also recommend the breakfast in bed....very nice
