reception dress?

My mom and I were talking the other day and I was so surprised when she asked me if I was going to buy a 'second dress' (she is pretty clueless when it comes to wedding stuff). I hadn't really considered it but my dress is a very heavy satin..i'm wondering if I should go for a short and fun dress for the reception, or part of it?

I'm not doing a reception dress, for budget reasons, but if you could I think it's great! A reception dress could be something more fun and easier for you to dance in. I think short would be cute!

I really want to because i would like to have fun and be able to dance and have a good time and would like to also have something more 'bridal' for the ceremony.

It seems to be a pretty popular thing now from what i understand. I think its a great idea.

But, i dont have any dresses yet sooooo
0 down 2 to go!!!!

My mom was the one nagging me to get a second dress. At first I was against it, then totally into it, now I'm unsure.

For me personally my dress has a ballgown skirt so I don't know if I want to be dragging that thing around all night which is why a second dress is appealing.

On the other hand you only get to be a bridal in a bridal dress once....hopefully lol... and you may look back on it and say why didn't I keep that dress on?

I don't think there's anything wrong with it, if it fits into your budget go for it!

I don't like the idea of a different dress for the reception. I totally understand why girls do it and I think you can find some really amazing dresses out there to change into. However, I feel like you only get to wear your wedding gown once and I know I would NOT want to spend thousands just for the ceremony. Plus, I think wearing ONE on your wedding day makes it more special. Just my opinion though! I'm sure whatever you decide will be fabulous!

I do like the idea of a reception dress just because of the ease of dancing during the night but I personally don't think I could take my dress off me once it's on. I love it so much and I want to wear that as long as I possibly can that day! LOL Also my mom paid for my dress and I think she would be upset if bought a second dress to change into

ITA, my parents paid for my dress and they went over budget to get it- I wouldn't want to upset them. Also, this is the most expensive dress I will ever own- I'm getting my money's worth lol.

Id only get a 2nd dress if it was a 2 day event or if we do an afterparty. Spending 3k for a dress to wear 30 mins kills me!
