Anyone doing a 'wishbowl'?
I picked this idea up off of a website, not sure where...maybe Martha Stewart? Just wondering if anyone is doing something similar.I bought a big glass jar from craft store and plan on hanging a sign around it-to say something like 'Wishes for the new Mr. and Mrs.'.
Anyone have any suggestions? Should I put the jar out by the place cards? I'll be decorated with leaves and branches, so it'll go with our fall theme.
Any idea where I can buy die cut paper (leaf shaped) for guests to write their wishes?
I like this idea in lieu of a traditional guest book. Engraving silver platter was a thought a few weeks ago, but we decided against it.

Re: Anyone doing a 'wishbowl'?
I liked the idea of a wishbowl instead of a guest book, but wasnt sure where to put it, or how to best organize all the cards afterwards. I am also considering a 'sign-in board' with a picture of us in the middle and everyone can write all around it.http://www.guestures.com/
Ill try to attach a picture....

I ust posted about this on another thread... We're doing exactly what you describe.I got a crystal bowl from the Bombay Company -- very expensive, but beautiful (tray Pier 1 for lower cost options) -- and I got a silver tray from ebay for $10 (including shipping). I'm putting slips of paper on the tray, next to the bowl and pen stand. I also go a beautiful 8x10 frame (silver with a few rhinestones embedded in it -- very wedding) and typed up a note on my computer that said 'Please write a note to and
Here's the bowl:

Here's a tray off of eBay that's currently priced at $1

I am also doing a wishbowl. I am going to borrow SonicStef's hurricane bowl. My coordinator told me about a paper store in Huntington that sells the notecards for .20 cents each. It is lying in the sun or something like that.

Re: Anyone doing a 'wishbowl'?
Thanks, ladies...I knew I'd find some good ideas here!In case anyone is looking, I picked up a couple of packs of blank bookmark from Michael's today. Folded in half, they are a perfect size for a short note or wish, and much less $$ than buying individual mini cards. I figured I'd stamp the front with a leaf stamp or our monogram stamp or a celtic knot.
Best wishes with your planning!!
