Anyone doing anything special to celebrate your first Christmas?
Even though we will just be coming back from the HM, I really want to do something special since its our first Christmas married. So I was wondering if anyone else had the same idea. If so what? I love hearing/talking about Christmas and there seem to be a lot of Christmas threads lately, so I got inspired

it's so funny but i was thinking about this last night and thinking what we can do or what traditions we can start. Well Christmas eve we go to church and go out to eat at a restaurant with his family after church and then go back to his parents house and open up gifts at midnight. So trying to figure out what we can do for x-mas day.
I think we'll save our gifts to eachother for christmas morning and have our own private moment with that. Maybe make a special christmas breakfast and anything after that is where i am stuck lol. Trying to figure out how to make it real special and i got too many ideas and then cant figure it out. Maybe host christmas dinner so we can have both of our families together.

I was thinking about this too! Not sure what we can do but it is our first Christmas married and in our house!!

We're wearing matching christmas PJs (and will forever) that's a tradition I'd like to start. When we have kids, the whole fam will be in matching PJs...
My father always hid a present in the tree for my mom so I'd like to start that tradition with DH too...

Jenn, I LOVE the pajama idea. Its soo cute. I doubt FH would ever go for that. But those would be such great pictures, especially when you have kids!!

Since our wedding is 2 days after Christmas, it won't be our first one as a married couple, but still our first Christmas TOGETHER!! We're usually not in the same state at that time of year so we end up just calling each other and mailing gifts. I'm sooooo excited to be actually be WITH him!!!! lol.
Probably not doing anything extra special though. Since the wedding is only 2 days later, we're gonna be quite broke so i doubt there will be any presents exchanged. But that's okay. I'll be getting a Husband for Christmas (and I'm ALL he needs!!!!)

I would love to, but I am not sure what we can do! Sadly, DH has to work on Christmas Eve and New Years Eve this year, so I will probably just do my usual Christmas Eve tradition with my family. I think Christmas morning, I will go to my parents' house and have DH meet me there on his way home from work, and we can all open gifts together then. Later in the day, we all go to DH's sister's house (my family, too). I need to think of something for just the 2 of us, though!

We aren't really doing anything as far as I am concerned. Hopefully we will be moving out of the in-laws house during that time hah. That would be a great christmas gift as well. =P
I would like to make a huge breakfast, but everyone in his house is so picky, I am afraid it would go to waste. :(
When we get our own place, I hopefully will start a tradition of making a big breakfast, my mom used to do that and I would like to carry that on.

I havent really thought about it yet- it still seems far off- but I definately want to start some traditions that we can keep throughout our marriage and pass onto to our kids

thanks girls!! We actually wore matching Charlie Brown Halloween PJs all through October! (we washed them of course!)...
