what is the best way to let everyone know you made a donation? also what is appropraite to give. I am thinking about doing a donation to the ASPCA.

the aspca might have something on their website about donating...u can make cookies in the shape of a dog bone or something like that with a little tag/note that says a donation has been made (or a cute witty saying regarding the donation).
as far as the price...whatever u see fit/can afford. you dont neeeed to tell your guests the exact amount.
we are donating to the acs...which says the min is $3 per person and i forget how many ppl...and they make a scroll which is held closed by a ring...but i dont know if we're def doing the scroll or being more creative.

we made a donation to long island cares--the harry chapin food bank.
we didnt give out actual favors.
we put a sign in a clear plastic frame (1 per table) on nice cardstock telling our guests what we did.

FH and I are also doing donations to the ASPCA. Just go to their website and they have a link for donations. If you look thru the info they'll provide you with a contact person who handles donations for weddings. She's really nice!! You can donate however much you want. They provide you with the note cards. We love animals so we figured this was the best route for us!1

I am doing a donation to The Autism Society of America. I bought the autism awareness bracelets from them. I am attaching the bracelets to a card (with autism ribbon) that says that we made the donation and gives some info about autism awareness.

we're planning on doing a donation favor and i want to do the aspca or a local animal shelter and i'm sure fh will agree (haven't talked it over yet). but we haven't done ANYTHING about it (hey, we haven't even booked a hall yet!), so i can't really help you. just wanted to say i'm doing this too.

We're doing a donation in lieu of favors in honor of my FMiL, who recently passed away due to breast cancer. We're going to give to one of the appropriate charities (she had a particularly nasty type, and we want to specify for that research.) Anyway, we're going to list it in our program. I think it's a little tacky to put something on every plate, it's going overboard. Just my opinion. People will figure it out, I don't think anyone's going to get annoyed at the lack of Jordan almonds and demand to know where their favor ended up.
