I am getting married December 11th. Since i am a teacher we were planning on going away 2 weeks later which is Christmas break. We checked with the travel agent and the prices for that week are DOUBLE the prices for other times during the year...plus the fact that the places are packed with people. We want to be able to get the honeymoon we want and not have to cut things out so to do this we might go another time and pay almost half and get much more. Anyone doing something similar?

we are going a month later than our wedding...i actually LOVE the idea...gives us time to get ready for it and one more thing to look forward to!

I am teaching summer school so we are going the end of august, I am actually happy about this ! Now I have two things to look forward to, plus I will have time after the wedding to just chill.

We're leaving 2 weeks after our wedding. It's a bit weird to go back to work for 2 weeks but I'm sure I'll be on a post-wedding high
I wanted to catch the columbus day holiday for an extra day off.

I think we might not just yet. We have alittle one, so its kinda hard. If we do it might be in a few months afterwards. I know some others who did the same because they couldnt afford everything at once.

One of my bridesmaids, hi marisa, is getting married 12 days after my wedding so we will not be leaving on our honeymoon until after her wedding. It will 15 days after our wedding but i think it is fine, we will have time to relax and pack after the wedding.

We're taking the kids to disney the week after the wedding, I guess you can call it a family honeymoon. We're actually not going on a real honeymoon (by ourselves) until april 2010. Nothing booked yet though

the two weeks for christmas break are ridic!!!! my travel agent told me its the worst time to travel because everyone is off and traveling so the prices are really high.. I would wait or go right after the wedding, IMO

We're going at least 7 months later for weather reasons. I'm just hoping that I'll be able to work it out at work since I have a deadline oriented position, and as my bad luck would have it, I'm getting married at the end of my biggest deadline week, and honeymoon is planned for the middle of the second biggest deadline

We are moving after our wedding plus starting new jobs. Then we are into hurricane season and I don't want our honeymoon ruined so we are actually thinking about just waiting and saving up our time and money and making our one year anniversary our honeymoon and going somewhere really special.

me! if we go to Europe everyone is on holiday during August so we want to be sure things are open like restaurants and the like
and if we do Peru- its too damn cold there in Aug

6 weeks after so we are not adding extra stress of money prior to the wedding and no worries about having everything packed and ready to go the day after.

Meeeeeeeeeee we will probably do a one year anniversary moon cause this summer i am in school
That's ok i want to go to australia! and it gives us time to save up for a nice long trip there (we mght mot even come back )

i'm in the same boat!!!
when we got engaged (in may) we planned the wedding for october and booked it in august. in october of this year, i got my job (in a school). i def won't be able to take our honeymoon afterward and i know it's super expensive over the breaks. so we decided to put ours off until summer 2010 and spend about 3 weeks in australia. this way we can save our money and go away longer!

We are getting married in late April and not going until April. Between costs and school schedules it's the best thing we can work out. Gives us something to enjoy after the wedding too!

We need to drive our car back from Long Island and set up our new place before residency, so we aren't going straight to our honeymoon.
