We are agreed to abstain from nookie a few weeks before the wedding in order to try and make the wedding night special. Well, it's only been one week, and I don't know how I am going to fare for the next two weeks that we have left.
Is anyone else doing this?

We are going to try to last about a month. I have no problem (strange as it sounds) but FH can't last long. We will see !!!!

I really never understood why anyone would do this. Isn't it special all the time?
I agree, I'm sorry but that is just silly...IMHO

Me too, besides you are soo tired on your wedding night, that if you do it at all you'll barely remember it.
so true! I passed out and DH didn't even get a chance
We abstained and it was DH's idea. At the time I thought it was the dumbest thing EVER But you know what, if you abstain there is no way that you WILL GO TO SLEEP THAT NIGHT UNTIL YOU CONSUMMATE YOUR MARRIAGE - A FEW TIMES

LOL - they mentioned this to us during our engaged encounter weekend... we couldn't even hold out for the 2.5 days we were there!
It's safe to assume that we'll be practicing for our wedding night until the wedding!

Must agree with the girls here...in my opinion if you abstain for too long the action gets cut by 1/3 since you're both so excited that you both want to rip each other apart...sorry if too much info but Im just speaking from experience In any event I think its special everytime and especially the night of when everything is all over, and its just the two of you as a husband and wife and all the stress is GOOOONNNEEEEE!!!!!!!! CANT WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Anyone else abstaining before the wedding?
I've abstained for 25 yrs., my fiance has abstained for 28 years. Our wedding night will be the first or, to be a bit more realistic, the morning or evening after (we both have a feeling we're going to crash after the wedding). No, we will not be ripping each other apart because while we have never 'experienced the experience' we are not naive. We have read books by credible authors and have spoken to married couples. It will be a GLORIOUS experience (though I'm a bit anxious about penetration... I refuse to even wear tampons... LOL).

Be prepared that is going to be nothing like what you expect. I remember my first time, and it was so different than what I expected. Kudos to you both for waiting until marriage. That, to me is respectable, and alot different than having sex with FH and then abstaining till the wedding night.

We didn't absatin and we didn't even talk about it....it was stressful enough before the wedding, this would have added to it.

Re: Anyone else abstaining before the wedding?
We did, for 2 weeks. It just so happened that my monthly 'friend' came for a visit 2 weeks before and then the last 7 days, I was pretty busy with other things and we agreed 2 weeks out of our lives wasn't going to kill us.
And since our wedding ended at 5pm, we had plenty of time alone on our wedding night. And we weren't THAT tired.

That is so awesome and really beautiful. We have been abstaining as well. Just be open and happy about that time and don't have any expectations about how it will or will not be. God will surely bless you in your efforts that is for sure!!

it's a cute idea...but a little silly if you've been going at it all this time anyway.
