Your day will come when the time is right. Marriage and being engaged is not about what you wear on your finger, but what you hold in your heart for each other. If the two of you are committed and he asked you to marry him, then you are engaged! Congrats!!!
Lots of people get engaged without rings...you are not the first and don't let people ruin this amazing time for you...ENOY IT!!!

i also had almost 2 years, our engagement is 22 months. It did feel like it was going to take forever but HOLY SH*T it sneaks up on you and then all of a sudden you worry if you have enough time
time really does fly but enjoy every moment, even when things get hectic and stressful and you want to kill everyone around you, try to just let that go and make the most of it. I remember when my countdown was at close to 400 days and now my wedding is 7 weeks away, it feels crazy and all i think is WOW when did this happen hahaha
Wedding Countdown 49 Days 18 Hours 40 Minutes 4 Seconds
soon you'll be telling the 2012 brides that 2 years will fly
happy planning

It will be here before you know it! I had 2 1/2 years to plan my wedding and I would do anything to do it again-not that I didnt love my wedding but all the planning, decisions and stress was over SOOO fast!
Enjoy the time now-youll miss it when its over

I had an issue with timing of my party. I wanted something elegant and my mother wanted a backyard day party that didn't run too late. So we compromised with a brunch. A lot of girls on this site helped me with the idea. I think a brunch has the elegance that I am looking for and the time my mother was hoping for.
We are having it in the backyard. We bought a 10 x 20 tent at BJs, having it catered with bagels, muffins, quiches, fruit salad, pasta, a ham, eggplant and a cold cut platter.
We are getting a beautiful sheet cake from BJs for $20.00. And their cakes are delicious! Every place we priced for brunches came to about $50.00 a person, so we thought we would have it at home and be able to stay as long as we want. We plan on going out to the bars afterwards.
