Seems like half of manhattan isnt in today, there were seats on the train in and a COMPLETELY empty subway at 8:50 in the morning.
it was weird.

Re: anyone else at work?
I am at work as well, but most companies offer today off to their employees. At least all of the companies I have worked for in the past did, except this one of course.
Sales companies, supermarket's, banks and retail stores are usually the only places open today.
