Re: Anyone else dislike dress shopping?
It wasn't fun until I started trying on dresses that I liked and thought flattered me.

Re: Anyone else dislike dress shopping?
I just went for the first time yesterday and I LOVED so many dresses that I tried on! Where did you go? I went to Adrienne's in Islip and I thought they were wonderful!
Don't worry! You will find something that you love!

Why didn't you like it? I hope that when you go back (to a different shop) that you have a better experience.

Re: Anyone else dislike dress shopping?
I actually found a dress I really liked, but the saleswoman kept saying 'that's so pretty, its so you' about every dress! And the dresses are not all that comfortable (I kept on remembering the scene from Sex and the City where Carrie flips out and gets a rash when trying on wedding dresses!

Re: Anyone else dislike dress shopping?
I didn't like dress shopping...but I have NEVER liked dress shopping. I have memories of standing in the dressing room fighting with my mom while trying on my communion dresses, my prom dresses, and now my wedding dresses. Nice to come full circle huh Really I just get frustrated when I would try all of these dresses on and they would fit every where but in the chest ....

I actually didn't want to go through that process because I know how indecisive I am, so I just looked online and actually found a dress that I always loved. I went with my gut feeling and ordered it through Ebay. I was so happy when I actually got it and I even cried when I had it on.

I'm with you! I found it to be tiresome getting in and out of each dress! I was dehydrated by the end of each trial!!

I used to have the problem (and still do to some degree) when buying dresses off the rack. But the beauty of wedding dresses is that they can order it bigger, and then fit it to you perfectly! So there is no need to worry about whether it fits when you try it on or not. You just need to find the dress you love for the price you can swing.
For anyone that hated dress shopping, try Lillette's in Baldwin. Gerri was so nice and helpful in finding dresses she thought would be flattering on me. I bet she can help you!

Re: Anyone else dislike dress shopping?
I hated it before I even considered doing it. Then, I went and looked b/c my BM's and Mom forced me to at least try three on...and I HATED it...
So...I picked my dress via online, and having it custom made.
I want nothing to do w/those bridal salons, w/trying fifteen dresses that make me look like the Michilen Tire Man, and the pressure to deposit money now b4 you don't get the dress in on time. I won't even touch on the pricing issues.

Re: Anyone else dislike dress shopping?
Well, what I didn't like was travelling to get to the stores that I wanted to shop at. Also, I got very tired getting in and out of dresses--and some of them were itchy. But all in all it was fun. I loved seeing what some of the other girls in the shops were trying and I LOVED trying on all the veils at the dress shops.

Re: Anyone else dislike dress shopping?
I did not enjoy my first dress shopping experience. I went with my mom and SIL. Because 'the guys' were late from their golf game, we had to bring my 4-year old nephew with us.
So here I am, trying on these gorgeous gowns, with my nephew running his toy trains on MY train. The little bugger even looked up at me every so often to say, 'Aunt Amy, that dress looks HORRENDOUS.'
