Anyone else doing disposable cameras at the reception?

Anyone else doing disposable cameras at the reception?

I am planning on putting one disposable camera on each table at the reception so we can get even more pics from the reception & from various points of view.

I've heard horror stories about the quality of pics that come from those 'wedding cameras' so I am just going to use Kodak or whatever.

I want to make a small tag to stick to the camera that has a cute saying about taking pics & LEAVING the camera on the table at the end of the night...any suggestions?

TIA

we did them and we're so glad we did! in the grand scheme of the cost of a wedding, it was pretty minimal. I bought the Fuji celbration 4 packs from Walmart for $16 each (with $3 off coupons). the quality is not 'great', especially in comparison to the professional proofs, but we got some great shots of our guests having a ball and there were some nice one's of DH and I as well

The knot has those disposable cameras with the sayings that come with the cameras. I am planning on using the cameras as well. I'm hoping I'll get some good candid shots of everyone!

I think this is the standard saying. You can always change it around.

Our Wedding Day
Use the camera on the table to take candid pictures of all our friends and family...the fun, the special moments, and of course those not-to-be-forgotten shots.
Pass the camera around, let everyone enjoy the fun. When all the pictures are taken, just leave the camera on the table.

Hope this hopes

Thanks so much! I am just so NOT creative when it comes to those things.

I'm doing this as well! My mother suggested that we get the disposable ones that the flash is automatic for those people who forget to turn on the flash when taking pictures. I think they're a little bit more, but it the end it will be worth it- JMO.

I so wish I'd done this - a few people brought their own and then gave them to us at the end of the night and I loved seeing those pictures!

We're doing a table camera scavenger hunt. Hmmm, finishing the lists could be something to do with all this snow outside.

There is a short poem you can add to remind guests to use the flash. I'm trying to find that myself.

We bought our cameras from BJ's and just put them on the table without tags. We got some really cute pictures from them and we're really glad we did them. We dropped them off before we left for our HM and picked them up when we came back. It gave us something to look forward to.

If you don't do a tag, you could always have your dj/band leader make an announcement about the cameras.

We did them.. and we got some really great pictures.. some of people I didn't really see all night..
When I developed them I put the, on disk also so you can play w/ them if they are dark or off..
well worth it.. plus you have those before you get your proofs..

Here's some Kelly:

I'm your camera - so have some fun,
You'll make this album a special one!
Snap away as best you're able,
Then leave me off at the gift table!

Here is a camera
Please use it a lot,
To take pictures of
What the photographer will not.
The flash is required
Because it is night.
If you don't use it,
The snaps won't come out right.

Hold the front switch over
'Til the little light flutters.
You're all ready now!!
So please press the shutter.

The perfect distance
Is four to ten feet.
Any nearer or farther
Will be your defeat.

At the end of the evening
With all film exposed,
Return to the best man,
Who'll develop the photos.

The bride and groom have a request
So put on a big smile
And look your best
When you see some fun
Take the hint
You snap the camera
And we'll make the print!

Take this camera and have some fun
Get some pictures of everyone!
Maybe you'll see something
We didn't see
That we can keep as a memory!
Thank you for sharing
This special day with us.

See this camera sitting here --
It's for your use, we say.
To help us capture memories
On this, our wedding day.
Share the camera among the guests.
Some candid shots please take.
Then leave the camera when you're done.
An album we will make.
You've helped to make our special day
Complete with love and laughter.
Thank you all so very much
For the memories you did capture!

To celebrate this special day,
Pick a camera and really play.
Leave it on the table when you are through,
So Mary and John can develop the pictures taken by you.

This is a very special gift
for Anne and Bob to see.
The Reason it's so special is,
'Cause it's from you and me.
Take a posed or candid snapshot
and when all the film is through,
leave the camera by the door
so they'll have these memories of you.

I AM YOUR CAMERA, SO SCAVENGE AROUND
HUNT FOR THOSE PICTURES THAT NEED TO BE FOUND!
SHOOT AWAY & COMPLETE THE LIST,
ADD ANYMORE THAT WE MAY HAVE MISSED.
JOIN IN THE FUN ON OUR SPECIAL DAY;
CAPTURE SOME MEMORIES IN YOUR OWN SPECIAL WAY.
TAKE A FEW PICTURES & THEN PASS IT ON;
LEAVE IT ON THE TABLE WHEN THE EXPOSURES ARE GONE!

Those are the best shot for candid photos. Don't over do it but it's always fun for the guests also.

I was NOT planning on it because I wanted to have only 15 exposure and not 27, but I could not find any...WELL that was until today... I found 15 exposure wedding cameras with the instruction card that goes with it....2.75 per camera.

im doing that too...

there was one on here from a wedding review.. i printed it out - i will try and find it for you.. but it asks the table to take about 10 assigned pictures and has cute driections (like put the flash on) and then they can use the rest of the film for funny shots..

i was going to go to price club to get them - i hope they still have the wedding edition ones - white roses and only have 17 exposures on them!!
