My FMIL bought two dresses and can't decide which one she wants so she's planning to wear one to the ceremony and one to the party.
I think its stupid and yet another cry of attention, but that's JMO. What is anyone else doing?

Re: anyone else doing this?
I've known a lot of people that do this. Especially if the ceremony is in the afternoon and in a church, and the reception is in the evening.
The question is which one will she be wearing for photos? Will you have pictures with her in two different dresses? Do you care?

There is not much you can do. Apparently she does like to draw attention to herself. That won't change the fact that you are the bride and you will stand out no matter what.

For my brothers wedding, my mom wore one dress to the church and then changed for the reception later. Since my ceremony is at fox hollow, she wont have an outfit change for my wedding

Re: anyone else doing this?
My mom had the same problem for my brother's wedding. So she decided that the less fancy one she would wear to the rehearsal dinner and the other to the wedding.

Thanks for the commentary girls...I guess this isn't a big deal after all. I'm kind of amused though, because she selected two black dresses. To me, that means less of an opportunity to stand out and more of an opportunity to blend in.

my dad has 2 different outfits but only because at the Church he's going to wear a traditional filipino suit called a barong and then will change into his tux for the reception.

Eh, no one will notice her change. If she needs attention thaat bad, let her make a lame attempt.

my FMIL is changing her shoes...and it will be noticeable..since she's gotta dance with her son...and they are incredibly darker than the ceremony ones...but it's all comfort for her...i decided immediately that i didn't care. she almost bought 2 dresses...that also wouldn't have bothered me..many brides buy a reception dress and only wear their wedding dress for the ceremony and pictures....it's not unheard of.

since they are two black dresses, i take back my comment cause it seems as though she is attempting to blend!
