Anyone else feel like this? Shower related

So I peeked again at my registry and another item was bought and now I am nervous about this whole thing. Who are we that these people are going to the store to buy things for us? Why would they take time out of their busy lives to attend a shower? All of a sudden I don't want all of this. All I want is to quietly marry my love and best friend and join our lives together. Am I crazy? I've been physically sick all afternoon about this. I know that know it is all out of my control but I can't stop thinking 'who am I' and 'why.'

I guess I just need some hugs.

Don't feel that way...I know sometimes when things are out of my control..I get nervous and start to panic..I felt this way about my Baby Shower...I hope I feel a little better for my Bridal Shower.

Just take a deep breath and enjoy the moment..Once your at your shower you will feel diffrently these people are doing these things because they love you and are happy for you! feel Better

People are doing this out of love and affection for the two of you. They are happy for you and want to share in your joy. Dont let it overwhelm you. Rejoyce in the fact that so many people care about you and want to share in your happiness.

Don't feel bad! People have been getting bridal showers for years!! It is all part of the wedding. People DO NOT think you are being selfish or anything because you are having a shower. You go to other peoples wedding showers right, and buy them shower gifts. Do you ever think, ' Why do I have to buy this person a gift, who are they'. I bet you have never thought that and are happy to buy gifts.

Think of it this way, its your turn to be the bride. You should be happy! My grandmother had a shower, my mother had a shower, and my sister had a shower. I think of it as my turn.

P.S. The people buying those gifts of your registry are people who love and care about you.

Aww I totally agree with this.

I don't like the concept of showers either. FH and didn't have an engagement party because we didn't want people to feel we were just after more gifts. I know my mom is paying for my shower and I feel bad especially since my parents are paying for the entire wedding.

I've just had to realize that they WANT to give me gifts and celebrate with me because they are excited for the wedding and us starting our lives together.

So, enjoy the shower and realize that you are just blessed with family and friends who love you!!

I always felt the same way..that I didn't even want a shower or gifts, why should everyone buy us gifts just for getting married..we want to get married we don't need gifts, etc. etc. but now that we're planning our wedding I am trying to enjoy this time as much as possible and understand and appreciate what everyone else has said..that these people are happy and excited for you and want to celebrate with you!

I thought the same thing when I registered for all this expensive stuff on my registry. I was thinking people will be saying 'who does she think she is registering for all this expensive stuff'

I got over that quick
