Anyone else get a laugh (from vendors?) Bridal laugh!

Does anyone else find it funny how many vendors kiss *** to get your business?

Honestly, no body ever sux up to me in 'real life' but since I'm the bride with money and power (or so they think), they tell me how lovely everything will be and how wonderful all my plans are.

I kind of enjoy this power trip! Makes me laugh!!!

There are some vendors that try to SELL you something and are soo shady and feel like they tell me the same thing that they tell a million other brides. I can not stand that . But my vendors are the total opposite, thats why I choose them!!

It is amazing how I've heard stories about how they change their tune after you sign the contract. I LOVE that non of my vendors did that!

My favorite story from my planning was the very well-regarded florist who told me he'd match any quote I got from another florist, then scoffed when I told him the other florist was Burton's and told me that comparing his establishment to Burton's would be like comparing Nordstrom to Wal-Mart! Lucky for me, I went straight back to Burton's and booked and had a beautiful wedding!!

It's laughable what places think they can get away with just because you're shopping for something wedding-related...

One bridal shop lied to me and pressured me to try to make a sale, after the girl helping me was beyond rude. When I told her what I thought I was looking for in a dress (after trying on tons of dresses all week) she told me that dresses like that don't exist and I should go home and look at bridal magazines before wasting my time and her time trying on dresses that I wont like because I have my heart set on some dream dress that doesn't exist

That pissed me off, so when I told her I had already FOUND a dress that had what I was looking for but I wanted to see what else was out there before committing she totally changed her tune. They didn't even have the dress, but she told me how beautiful it will look on be and how I will be such a beautiful bride and that THEY would order it for me. She asked what I had been quoted so I rounded down a little and she said she'd beat it by $10 if I ordered it in the next 2 hours (I think she also wanted me to commit to ordering my BM dresses as well, in order to get that price). I wanted to make 2 small changes to the dress so she gave me estimates for those as well.

We walked out, didn't call them back and didn't order from them. I later found out they arent even authorized dealers of that designer (which is why they didn't have any of her dresses in the store), they totally made up what they told me about the changes to the dress (told me the designer will extend the train longer than she will, and quoted me about 3x the cost for it).

I wonder what would have happened if I did buy through them -- would I have gotten a fake dress, or would they have bought it from another bridal shop? It's amazing how people are so freakin lazy that they will be rude to you if they think you arent going to be an easy sale, and then if they suddenly think they have a chance at an easy sale they will tell you ANYTHING to get you to sign.

In contrast, the place where i *did* order my dress is even nicer to me and my mom now than before we ordered.

One bridal salon I went to asked me what my budget was. Told them that number, a very decent number.
Asked me what type of dress I was looking for, I showed pictures and conveyed my ideas.

They proceeded to show me everything NOT what I was looking for. One dress was so huge that I could barely get out of the fitting room. I am not a small girl, by any means, but this dress had so much fabric on it that I got lost in it. Next.
They showed me everything that was WAY under my budget.
Then they tried to get me to buy a SAMPLE dress that was three sizes too small and also a couple of inches too short. They could add panels on the side and match the beading. What about the length ? I'm 5'10'' in flats. No answer.

Had they listened to what I wanted and how much I was willing to spend, they could have had a nice sale. But they didn't .......so they lost the sale.

Then, they called me about 3 weeks later to remind me that I needed to order a dress right away because my wedding was getting close. Told them ok, but I already bout my dress elsewhere and it was not a sample.
