After researching our Cruise idea-- I think we would be able to SEE more actually staying ON the islands... even though I'm not good with flying, I'll have to deal . So I was wondering if anyone has any info (I've gotten some from LandsEnd06 already that was SO helpful!!) and was wondering if anyone else would mind sharing their plans, where they are staying, what islands, what they plan on seeing, etc!
Any and all info would really help us out. I've never been to Hawaii and am clueless about what is good to see and where to stay, etc. Also, I'm clueless about pricing so if you wouldn't mind-- could anyone FM me with prices for where they are staying and how long? This will help us get a better idea so then I can take all this info to the TA for booking and we can make our decision!!!

i just got back from hawaii 2 weeks ago! it was gorgeous!!!!! you are going to have the best time! we visited 3 islands - Kauai, Maui, and Oahu. which islands are you going to???? i'll be happy to share advice on restaurants, activities, etc!

i was thinking of doing kauai, maui and the big island-- skipping oahu... what can you recommend AND can you FM me with an idea of prices, if you don't mind-- I'm just trying to see if this is going to work for us.

I went to Hawaii 5 years ago and dream about going back. I def. agree that it's fine to skip Oahu. It's not romantic like the other islands. Also, you can always take a day/night trip to visit most of the other islands. If your on a budget look at the Kaanapali Beach Hotel in Maui. They are so nice there and the only hotel on the strip that is authentic Hawaiian with a great price. Enjoy planning a great Honeymoon!!!

We are going to stay at the Kaanapali Beach Hotel. I have heard a lot of nice things about it. I think it looks beautiful from the pictures! Glad to hear someone else liked it.

We're going to Hawaii on our honeymoon- Maui, Kauai, and the big island. We heard from a lot of people that went to not stay on Oahu because it was too commercial. We're planning on doing a day trip to Oahu instead to see Pearl Harbor and stuff.
I think there's a Hawaii thread somewhere- I'll see if I can find it and bump it for you.

perfect-- i love it-- thank you so much!!!! pretty much all the same things that we are going to do (islands and stuff)... i hear a lot of people saying that we should skip oahu but then i see all the things that you did and i like that-- it's similar to NYC (i was told) so i kinda like that and supposdely waikakii beach is beautiful-- we would be staying at the same resort as you so i like that-- i heard from a few people also that if you are going to skip an island-- the big island is the one to skip-- b/c it's basically just volcanoes and dried lava-- hmm a lot to think about
