Anyone else had problems with their church? (long)

I dont get it! We are supposd to be getting married at FH's church - a church that is financially struggling and barely has members anymore so they should welcome our activity yet they are giving us such issues!

The arch bishop wouldnt perform our service because he didnt want cameras and now the priest that is supposed to do it spoke to the arch bishop and is saying something similar and he is now bringing up that FH and I are different religons - which they said wasnt a prob before.

He said he is not sure if he will even want to do a wedding in July - what! Then he told me that since today is a holy day he wouldnt talk about it anymore and to call him after easter. We are getting married in 3 1/2 months! Im so annoyed already.

And the church isnt even that pretty and has a really short aisle - there I said it!!!!! Ugh!!!!

In this whole wedding process, the church is the only one who've given us a headache. I don't get it either

I dont understand these churchs! They are crying that noone is going to church and then they give all sorts of problems.
i am getting married in FH church. The priest that was handeling my paperwork left in January and was replaced by a non-english speaking priest. I would be fine with it but we dont speak Korean! Anyway I am still waiting on a phone call on who is going to be the contact priest for my wedding. It is now April- almost 4 months since that priest left. I just dont get it!

Our issues are mostly communication related. I haven't dealt with them at all, so far I've made FH do all the handling, because he is charming and I am / can be a b!tch and my mom, since she is a regular church-goer. They were wishy-washy about setting up our RD date more than 1 month in advance, every time we call, we have to wait DAYS for someone to get back to us. That person usually has no idea what is going on. FH went there and asked for this booklet that has our reading selections in it and the woman at the desk had NO idea what he wanted. Like he walked into church and ordered a taco. Lady, the PRAYER BOOK!! WTH!! Same thing happened when he went to try and look at some programs. Again no idea what he was talking about.

Oh, they also had our wedding booked in the wrong year - June 2009. Ummm . . . top notch.

And now they are bringing up that FH and I and not the same religion - this is not a catholic church so it shouldnt be so strict. And they ask at least 3 times during every conversation if either of us is divorced. Im about to throw in the towel.

I think maybe you should... The camera/video thing is ridiculous and i've never heard anything like that! Maybe you should look into some other churches and see if they have avail/will marry you guys. You shouldn't have to deal with that nonsense!

I have had NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS, I was brought to tears yesterday by a nasty email the priest wrote me....From being kicked out of pre-cana for missing a class (um, some of us work at night) to being completely uncooperative and nasty. If we didn't have our invites printed I would have switched in a heart beat!

The invites are another thing! I got my sample today - am I supposed to hold off now in case they change their minds? Im so upset.

What???? Did they ever find it? Or did you have to give them another one?

Nope- they never found it! i had to put a stop payment on it and now I am not giving it to them until the rehersal

I hear you, I have been getting the run-around with my church, we were suposed to be in a precana class in october and they keep pushing us further back . . . . I call every week and they are going to have a saturday class soon. . . . uuummmmmmmm hello it's 3+ months to our wedding and we still have to take precana - I want to make my programs and I don't want to be putting the together the night before!
