WOW I hate my job. I left for lunch for a 1/2 hour I get back to about 6 emails from my boss. I work for an RH that also does corporate meetings.
One email was bashing me that has her 2 bosses cc'ed on the emailI. I
I really have about 2-3 bosses depending on who you ask
One tells me to do one thing and the other another thing BUT GUESS what they dont talk to each other! So one tells me to give invoices right to clients when they have a meeting and the other says to mail them out to clients!!! i have told them both this before that they need to decide on what to do I dont care either way but they never spoke to each other! Then I get an email saying how she has asked me before to do it this way. So I went right into her and said look when you and john say two different things and I have to listen to both what am I to do! Well she said she will talk to him but who knows really! I wish she would just speak to me first before she sends out an email to include the GM and the assistant GM!!!!
I need something new! Today was my day back after my 'weekend' (I am off Monday and Tuesdays) and I had about 20 emails and my main boss was off Monday! Its incredible. The emails sometimes are one word things! She will email me what to email someone else!
Sorry for the long vent its just annoying!

Aww thanks! I know how you feel about working for the weekend! I count down the days. My last job was stressful but I had great friends and got great benefits I worked for Hyatt so I got 11 free rooms a year plus 50-75% off rooms for family! I miss it! I only took this job because I wanted to move back to NY from Boston.

Sorry about the job. It's horrible when you hate your job..I mean it's hard enough sometimes to get yourself motivated when you don't hate your job.
Can you start looking for another job?
Good luck.

Hang in there! I hate my job too at times and the only thing that keeps me going is that I'm graduating in a couple of months. I'm a secretary and there have been times when someone has printed out a fax cover sheet put together the entire packet - walked PAST the fax machine to my desk and asked me to fax it for them! Are you kidding??
But seriously hang in there - things always get better eventually.

Re: Anyone else hate there job A LOT
I have been pretty unhappy with my advisor/work lately (it's complicated because it isn't really a job, but rather my research for my thesis which I get paid for). So I don't have the option to leave unless I want to start my research all over again (no thanks). I just telling myself I only have a year left before I graduate and then I can get the heck out of there.

hang in there!!! I know you have probably thought about this, but can you look into working for a Hyatt in NY? Maybe the people will be just as good as your last place since companies tend to try to hire the same types of people, personality wise...

Re: Anyone else hate there job A LOT
I have gone through what you are experiencing now and it is really stressful. I had to start keeping a log of everything said and done. But, it's sad that you have to deal with those kind of unprofessional, unorganized people. They seem to care about one thing (themselves) and they don't care who they hurt in the process. To me, it just shows a lack of managerial skills on their part.
Try your best and hang un there!! Hopefully, if you are at a point to where you need to start looking for a job I pray that something becomes available.
