Anyone else have a hard time getting people at RH on the phone>
I have been calling different RH locations to get pricing and availability and after about 2 or 3 messages I leave a secretary calls me back...
Im getting frustrated trying to book a RH when no one will speak to me... The best part is when I ask about avaiibility and prices some places laugh at me and tell me that they will not give any information over the phone and I need to take a night off from work (I work afternoon to night as a med tech) so I can come in and speak with someone.... Getting frustrated already

yeah i kinda dont get that. just give us the price. you are wasting our time and your own time by making us come in if its more then we can afford.

Yes-almost all of them will not give you the prices over the phone. So make appts. You can go during the week early, we did some of ours during the week in the morning and afternoons. And if someone does call you they will schedule an appt.

Since I live in the city, I have to come out on weekends to see RHs. They have no problem taking you for the weekends.

Yeah, most places will not do prices over the phone. See, there are so many different situations and they want you to see the place in person. There's a logic behind it...it's somewhat inconvenient at times, but that's the way it is.

Yea exactly, unless they want FH and me to come in at 430am before he goes to work or at 11pm when I get out of work then there is no problem!! So why cant they just give info over the phone!!

Just to add, I know it may not be an option for some people but I actually took a day off of work and lined up a whole bunch of appts for that day, morning through the evening, for everyplace that couldn't meet w/me at night after work or on the weekends. It ***** but there's a lot of sacrifice involved in all of this wedding planning. But you gotta do what you gotta do. Good Luck!

Its better to go and visit the RH to get a feel of the place first and then book in person not over the phone

i've gotten a lot of places to give me prices over the phone. i won't make an appointment unless they give me a ballpark first (not interested in wasting time w/ places outside of my budget), and most places have asked the date and given me an estimate. the trick is to get the catering manager on the phone, which seems only to happen if i catch them during their regular hours.

Also check their website, some have prices listed-you can also go to HERE and you will find some halls with the average price, what they include, etc.

I understand your frustration. No one wants to go all the way out there and then find out it's not in the budget.
But even after we booked, it was challenging! Their day starts later b/c the work day ends later due to events. On a related note, I was very surprised by how many vendors of all kinds didn't use e-mail or insisted on face to face meetings--again, after booking--when electronic correspondence would have sufficed. A few didn't even have Web sites. It's the 21st century, folks! DH and I are OOT and it was very challenging.

I had a magazine called 'Locations' which I received at a Wedding showcase and they had pics, and pricing info on almost 95% of all the places in the magazine.....thats how I narrowed my appointments down.
if you google 'Locations Magazine' you'll find their website.
