Anyone else have a hard time shopping for DH / FH?

Gee - it just gets harder and harder each year! He's not into jewelry or anything. He has about every wallet, watch, cologne etc. And some to spare! This year I got lucky bc we are going to New Orleans with friends for a few days so that's our gift to each other... with a few things totaling under $100. But even that I am having trouble with! Men!

My husband is VERY picky. He is the type that has to be wowed by a gift, so every year the pressure is on to be creative.

I have a problem EVERYTIME I need to buy him a gift!!!
My husband is not a jewelry person but strangly enough when he's not working he makes sure he wears his wedding ring. I was thinking of getting him a cross on a chain & hoping he'll wear it!

I have the same problem....FH is not a jewelry person AT ALL (except for the wedding ring), has all the clothes a man could want or need, treats himself to the necessary electronics b/c he is anal about picking them out himself, and doesn't get 'wowed' easily!!!

Every year he says 'Oh, don't worry about me, I don't need anything'....

It's SO frustrating!!!

Yeah but I INSIST he make a list so I don't waste money or so my mom or whoever doesn't waste $$ either.

What about a restaurant gift certificate? You would benefit from it to and it's something you (he) would spend money on anyway, so at least it's practical.

I have similar problems too. No jewelry, has a ton of clothes, electronics and gym stuff he likes but he knows a lot more about that than I do usually and has a lot - not sure what else he needs. I like to be creative and get him something he will love but it is so difficult.

(PS we have a similar limit this year - we are buying something big for the house we both want -and then set a $100 limit for other gifts.)

SOOOOOOOO hard!!!! This year he says he wants stuff for his car and I will happily get it (so I don't have to figure out what he wants )

Enzo is very easy. He loves everything that I get him.

Kathy - you are lucky!
Joe is such a pain sometimes! He still hasn't gotten his bday gift bc I too refuse to spend money on just anything... I bought him a robe, slippers, and made a few things for him but the real gift he has still yet to tell me.
For Christmas I was thinking of having his truck detailed bc I know he'd like that, but that's over the limit by $100 and he'd get mad! Maybe I could combine the bday gift and Xmas gift and get him the detailing? Betty - that's an idea for your hubby too!

Same problem here. I usually wind up buying him items with his favorite college football team logo on them - (there's only so many of those you can buy though!) This year for Christmas he's getting Alabama PJ bottoms and a wooden football with Alabama's logo engraved on the front and their championship years engraved on the back. He also needs a dressy black overcoat. I got him 'X2' on DVD and may get him a Play Station game.

Do any of those ideas help?

My hubby is easy to buy for...my only problem is...I cannot AFFORD all the things he wants...Canon Rebel Digital Camera, Surround Sound Home Entertainment System, etc... I NEED TO GO BACK TO WORK!

Im with you on the tough buy guy.

DH has a habit of buying his stuff for himself. Drives me nuts. 3 months before Xmas I used to have to tell him “No purchases without approval first”.

But lately (wedding planning) we’ve been short on cash so it’s a little easier.

He likes such boy toys tho it drives me nuts!
Games,
Videos,
Electronics

He loves nice watches but he’s now got a pretty citizens watch (that one without a battery not kinetic or whatever).

Last Valentines I bought him a suade watch box from Nieman Marcus to hold his watches in. This year I have no idea what to get him. Im getting to the point I want to give up.

So far my only for sure win is the most recent Gameboy system.. LAME!

I AM!! FH doesnt want me to buy him anything (that isnt happening) - I told him we should set a limit on how much we spend this year because of wedding savings, yet he refuses to do that because I surprised him so well for his britherday this year. I have a few small ideas for him but nothing major - very upsetting!! FH is always so difficult to shop for because i try to make it very meaningful and useful! We'll see if I can do it this time....

It gets pretty hard for me too. As others have said my husband doesnt wear jewelry (except his wedding ring) and doesnt wear cologne. I usually just get him clothes all the time though.

I usually get him some clothes, lord knows he wouldn't get them for himself. This year I found the personal creations catalog. I got him a mug with a pic of his truck that says, spend more time with the ones you love. Plus, he can never have enough tools (his words, not mine)
