I know that a lot of times we see pics of wedding gowns in magazines on models & we think we love them-- then we try them on ourselves & we dont-- but what about the other way?
Did anyone else try on a dress in the dress shop, then come home and look it up online and not love it on the model?? I am having that problem right now! I loved it in the shop but it doesnt look as 'breathtaking' on the website. It's a Mon Cheri Couture dress-- called Caprice. I just don't get the same feeling for it in pictures-- will I feel that way when i see MY pictures?? I felt like in the store on me it was so 'bridey,' if that makes sense-- I LOVED the fabric, and the bodice made my heart skip a beat!! - but I really don't love it in the pictures! It looks almost TOO couture- when on me it looked very classic- as a matter of fact I was very surprised to hear that it was a Couture gown! Plus-- look at the way it is semi bustled-- it looked SO MUCH NICER in person-- it didnt look like pick ups like in the picture- it looked like an incredible bustle!!!--- and that is INCLUDED! Don't bustles usually cost like $25 per point?!?!? I need Help!

OMG ABSOLUTELY!!!!! if i had ever seen my dress in a magazine, i would NEVER in a MILLION YEARS have picked it!
Dress on skinny biitch model:
Dress on me!
Edited to add: my gown is mon cheri and when i got home from the bridal shop and saw it online i hated that the pic just did NOT do it justice! you couldn't see the gorgeous scallopping in the pics, especially in the train. and it looked dingy online!
if you loved it in person, you will LOVE it when your gown comes in!

i think most people think a dress looks better in person...YOu cant see the detail and color the way you can in person, its only normal.

The dress is stunning. I would go for it. I don't really love the way the model looks in my dress either, but I felt like a princess in it. A lot of times the detail just doesn't show up right in the pictures. I would go for it. It is an amazing dress. I would go and try it on if I hadn't already ordered mine.
My dress looks completely different in the magazines and online!! I don't even show people the pics because I don't want them to think my dress actually looks like that. It is very weird!

Re: Anyone else have this problem?
we have to remember that we are not all very tall and very skinny. Things look different on each body type. If you loved it on you- that is waaaaaaaaay more important than loving it on the model. If you want, just go back and try it on again. Just cus these girls are super tall and super skinny doesnt mean they always look better than us normal people!

I liked a Demetrios gown I hated on the model. I was going to get it, but I found a Maggie gown I loved even more. Pics are in my album. I'm just disappointed b/c my gown will be solid diamond white and strapless (not as in the picture)... so I feel like it doesn't look as much like my dress.

Re: Anyone else have this problem?
My dress is unbelievably cheesy in the magazines. In person, it's beautiful. Look at the necklace on the model. EW! Who does that?
hmmm my dress is ok in pics, i just found it, never seen it online before. But like the one i tried on in the store the model is also wearing the light green one which i wont wear, i have ivory
i really dislike my dress on the model (it's made for someone with hips and she's a stick) and it didn't even wow me on the hanger, but as soon as i tried it on i fell in love. i wouldn't even try on any more. =0)
there's a pic of it here (i'm at work and can't post better ones or one of me in it, but trust me, it looks much better).
I almost bought a morilee. I saw someone lese try it on and asked to try it when she was done. It looked so good on me and it was a store that didn't let you take pics. So I looked for a model pic and it sucked!!!!! I didn't even want my mom to see the model pic. To this day I still think she didn't like the dress because of the model pic.
In the end I picked a different dress for whatever reason, but YOU should pick wwhat looks good on you, does the model have the same body type as you? Prob. not, go with your gut as 99% of brides will tell you it's how you feel in the dress!!!

Funny I loved the dress on both me and the model, but I think both gave 2 completely different looks. The are both in my album.
But I did try on another dress that I liked on me and then when I went to look it up online, I did not like it at all; so I know what you are talking about!
I say go with what you think looks gorgeous on you!

Re: Anyone else have this problem?
Its happened with a few BM dresses...unfortunately, my top 2 choices were a Demetrios Special Edition (No pics online or in magazines) and a Maggie Sottero Limited Edition (Again- no pics anywhere), so I can't even compare. It sux because I have no pics of me in my dress yet either, so I can't even gaze at it while I wait til June for it to come in

I tried this dress on in the store and didn't realize that the bustle came down! I thought it had to be that way...had I known it could be worn 'regular' I may have looked at it differently.
It's a gorgeous dress though

Re: Anyone else have this problem?
Oh yeah. My gown. I loved it in person, LOVED it--obviously, I bought it--but it's not thrilling on the website. I saw anohter gown too, an Allure, that looks cheesy on the website but lovely in person. This is the Allure--also the model looks like a porn actress:
And here's my gown. You can't see how the front of the skirt is really flat like an Elizabethan gown. It looks amazing when it's on--my boobs are out, my stomach looks flat, and my waist looks tiny. When I showed it to my mom later that day, after we had been to the salon, she said, 'that doesn't look anything like it did in person!' There's a picture of it in the current Modern Bride mag, in the 'Uptown Chic' area, where it looks beautiful. Just the bodice, though.
during the dress-search I would look at a ton of pictures and a lot of the times I found this happening...when I went to go look at the website of what I tried on, I just wasn't thrilled.
But, I found my dress through the Demetrios website. I knew I was going to try them on so I looked online and I had a few picked out- my top choice though was the one I ordered!!!

OMG it looks SO MUCH better on you!! What a gorgeous dress- that model pic is so blah! Isn't that nuts? These models are supposed to be SELLING these dresses. We should go into business, no?
What's funny is, I always admired the pic of my dress- somehow I knew the style was just 'me.' But I always wondered if it was too plain. Well I went to try it on at the shop, and it looked like a completely different dress! It's amazing how these models can't do these dresses justice!
