Anyone else have USELESS bms who dont help you at all??
These are my so called friends?!! I get more help from you girls ( MUCH MORE!) and I have distant relatives and guests emailing me offering to help. Yes my bms who all live within a few miles of my house never bother to call and ask if I need any help with anything

it must be how I helped them get their dress orders in by coordinating the whole process!
on the other hand, I really don't know what anyone can do to truly help.

From past experieces, completely not wedding related, I prefer to do things myself so I know wexactly when, why and that they are what I want.

Well with the wedding less then 2 weeks away there was still putting together favors, helping make place cards, putting together the rest of the slipper baskets etc.
I know they are all busy with their own things.. my sister is trying to have another baby and works and has a 2 year old AND is looking for another house My best friend is about to have surgery and just isnt being herself and my fsil is planning her own wedding and has helped the LEAST of anyone. I think its really selfish seeing as how she just got engaged and since her wedding is after mine helping me for 13 days instead of worrying about your wedding 8 months away would be nice

I'm sorry for the added stress.
I agree. I've learned from my married friends past experiences that the number of bridesmaids you have does not necessarily= the amount of help you get. Sometimes it just = more drama. Considering all of my friends are married and I knew they would be of little help I'm just having a MOH.

I feel like all of mine are useless at this point...and those who try to /offer to help, would make a disaster of it....so i just shrug and deal...dont worry maxine....all will be fine!

Don't worry mines don't really help either we shall see as it gets closer to the wedding date.
One of BM who is my cousin by the way we were just havinga simple talk about the wedding day and my dress and I was explaining how my dress was and she comes out and says 'oh please don't ask me to help carry your train' just like that I looked at her and was like you are BM and if I ask for your help and that way you should be able to accomadate. I mean the nerve I can't beleive she said that.
so just hang in there girl everyone has useless BM. believe

I have a couple of useless bm's.
1 - my best friend, our work schedules are totally opposite and she lives in queens with no car. we hardly see each other, so i don't mind that much.
2 - my cousin, we work together and see each other every single day. anytime I say anything about the wedding she turns it around and starts talking about her sisters wedding that she is MOH for.
3 - my 18 year old sister, its just her age, she could care less

maybe try talking to them and let them know how you feel??
i was VERY upset with my MOH and BM. (i actually started a thread about it... ) finally i sent them an email and was very honest with them, told them how i felt and asked for their help. since then, they've been the best MOH/BM a bride can ever have!
as they told me, they just didn't realize how stressful this whole wedding planning process can be. you just have to explain the situation to them! and sometimes without specific instructions, they just have no idea what they can do!! but once you let them know, i'm sure they'd try!! afterall, they're supposed to be your best friends, right??

Oh god Maxine you are having the worst time lately! What's going on??!! I'm so sorry. Really you shouldn't be bringing this dress to her she needs to get off her rump to come get it! I think at this point you need to be a little more demanding about - oh well if you sound like a Bridezilla! It's less then 2 weeks away!!!!

i gave up on one of mine. shes too caught up in her own little world. whatever. its funny because a friend of mine got engaged a year or so ago and during her wedding planning i was like 'ugh whatever, so what, its one day!!' and now the tables are turned and i expect everyone to be interested in 'my day' and some arent. all i think to myself is, when her time comes (my bm), she will feel like this too and i will be there for her because i know how it is to want to talk about all these things. in a way i really dont care, cause i love coming on here talking to you girls, my friends think im nuts. they just cant relate. oh well!

I am so glad I am not the only one out here feeling that way. I am the friend/family member everyone calls when they need help or advice for something. It's really sad to say but my BM are totally useless to me right now. I have a large bridal party and I can't help feeling regret on asking them to be in my wedding. I drag my mother everywhere with me. There have been many instances in which I had to go try on dresses by myself or go to meetings by myself because my mother and fiance couldn't go. Maybe I'm not good as asking for help. What's most disappoining to me is that my sister who is very good at decorating and planning is not very interested at all, yet she calls me for everything that goes wrong in her life.

I have the same gripe with my maid of honor that happens to be my younger sister. While she's only 21 and i'm not looking to her for any type of financial backing, she has yet to ask me if i need anything, and then got upset when she realizes that one of my bms is helping me the most...i've decided to just worry about me this is my day and none of us should let anyone take that away from us!!

All I can say is thank god for my mom! Without her I would be lost.
Doesnt help that 2 of my BMs just got engaged and are worring about their own weddings.
I should have made my mom the MOH. She is currently writing my to do list! Love her!

I expected VERY little and so far I have been pleasantly surprised.
My MOH is difficult because she wants to tell the other girls what to do. She is willing to do a lot but I don't want her to put demands on anyone else. Other than that, it;s been good.
One BM went dress shopping with me twice and I did not think that she would have time to go at all. She also went with FH and I to a wedding show and to check out a band.
