I want to get a slightly sexy evening gown for later on in the night...where to look and when to change into it?

I want to...but I have to see what the situation is (i.e. how rushed I'm going to be, etc) - I'm def changing into one for the afterparty!

I will be staying in my dress all day. I will never wear it again so I need to get the most out of it. I also honestly think it depends on what you spent on your original dress. If it wasn't over the top expensive.

I <3 your dress; you have to wear it all night!! What is the material on the bottom? What's it called?

Awww thanks girl!!!!! Word up tho on wanting most of your pics in your gown, I felt the same way!!!! I wish I had kept my veil on longer though, that's my only style regret I took it off for the grand entrance and I wish I had kept it through at least the first dance. BOOOOOOO ALLEGRA!!!!! (Said in amazing Jamaican Red Stripe Man voice) Good luck with everything!!!!

I did this! I think it's great if you want to do it! My main reason for changing was we did a Rock Band after party in the CH room at the Royalton from 1am-3am, and we started it off with a 'performance' from 'our band' lol. It was me on drums, DH on lead vocals/guitar, our best man on guitar, and my moh on bass! It was so awesome! Anyway I couldn't drum in a ballgown, so I got this awesommmme custom made dress from Sarahseven.com. She custom makes all the dresses on her site for you (takes about 6-8 weeks). They are about $295-$595. Much better than the $1500 plus that all the bridal salons wanted for the short dresses.
I changed into the short dress at around 12-12:30 am. I also changed my shoes. Here are some pics! Good luck!
That's awesome..... I love the idea of an after party like that....
Thanks!!!

Re: Anyone else having a second dress to change into?
i'm thinking about getting a 2nd dress to change into a some point during the reception... i love my real dress, but its super heavy, and that was definitely a consideration when i bought it, but i said to heck w/ it, cuz i love it anyway! but at the same time, i do want to be able to dance and move around and enjoy myself w/o getting really hot and exhausted. don't laugh but i found these websites online where you can buy faux designer dresses made in china for like $200. for that much, i would be willing to find out what they really look like in person! :P

I am probably staying in the same dress all day..Love it and for me, it doesn't make sense to change into another outfit if the purpose of having a wedding gown is to walk around and show it off all day.
