Anyone else having to deal with divorced in-laws?

Anyone else having to deal with divorced in-laws?

The situation is just so frustrating. It just add extra stress onto the whole wedding planning process. This one can't sit near that one, and I will not be in a picture with him. She had better not sit in the same pew as me b/c she is not his real mother.
We just went to my cousins rehearsal dinner on Fri and noticed that the parents have to go up together to do things during the ceremony......and we were thinking now how is that going to work.
Background:
They have been divorced since FH is 13, she remarried and divorced again (he was not a nice guy though) and his Dad remarried as well, but they are still together. Of course a couple of years ago his mom and dad got into a huge fight which really destroyed any chance of this being easy.

Sounds like my family! In my world, FI is the one with parents going on 37 years of marriage . Mine, on the other hand, divorced when I was 12. I've told them all that they need to be mature enough to get along for the day - - - and I told my dad that his new wifey (#3) is not invited due to a variety of things she has done to make me hate her.......surprisingly, he understood).

Just make the best of it!

I do... FH's parents got divorced a little over 5 years ago. They've been okay with each other and can be cordial. Oddly enough, our issue is with FMIL's new hubby -- who she has only been married to for a year and only know for a year and half-ish. He has this huge issue with being around FH's dad, even though they don't have issues being around each other. It's insane!

We invited them over after we got engaged to meet my folks and he wouldn't come if FH's Dad was there. He is 'not comfortable' and will make no exceptions for any events. Apparently this goes for the wedding too. Don't get me wrong -- I don't so much care if he is there - we hardly know him -- but it caused issues where it was affecting FMIL's decisions about what events to go to and not go to. Luckily, we talked some sense into her....

Anyway, sorry to rant! But, yes, I understand!

my FI's parents are in the middle of it right now.. maybe it was the wrong time to decide to get married, but such is life.

Are you talking about my family

My parents went through a nasty divorce 15 years ago and you would think they grew up but still don't talk and both act like babies.
Fh's parents are married and hate each other..they sleep in separate rooms for over 10 years. Our familes are a mess and the wedding is just another reason FH and I should have just went away and got married.
