Anyone else just waiting for their closing date to arrive?

FH and I found our house in August signed a contract the first week of October and since have been just waiting for our closing date at the end of the month!! We can not wait to move in and it just feels like it is taking forever and now it seems that they may have to extend our closing date as we are waiting for paperwork from the town!!

Me me me me me!!! Our bid was accepted in October, signed the contract in November and we are waiting for closing. It was supposed to be in December but of course it was pushed back. So we are finally 4 days away

Congratulations to you! Yes- We signed the contract in December and we are supposed to close in early February! It's beena nightmare trying to sublet our apartment
Hopefully, the closing date won't get pushed back because we can't wait to move in!

The waiting is so hard! I want to decorate! It's going to be a really slow process though because all of our money is going to buy the house!

How long is the average time to close? What holds things up?

(Please excuse my total ignorance!)

I know Alaina is waiting for paperwork from the town, some COs I believe.
It also depends on if the seller has already closed on their new place... if not they will push back your closing so they are not homeless!
There couls also be schedule conflicts between the lawyers, mortgage compnay, etc.
Our was puched from Oct 12 to Oct 31 because the sellers didn't have their apartment until Nov 1st.

We are going to closing this week. HURRAY!! I hate to say this but we had to change banks midstrean becuase the mortagage man would get us 3 days b4 closing and deceide he did not like the way he packaged the mortgage, and would take it away from us. We got so mad we found a new bank and got the mortgage in 5 days. The old bank was mad at us, very unprofessional and screamed at us and hung up on us. I hope it is just a matter of waiting for the date. Good luck to all of you waiting for the closing. it is such a stressful time, it will be here before you know it. and congrats in advance !!!
