Anyone else NOT doing a unity candle?

Anyone else NOT doing a unity candle?

Something about it bugs me though I can't figure out what it is. Although I do like the idea of lighting it again on anniversaries.

We are not doing it. We also aren't doing the Blessed Mother flowers nor the memorial candle.

We just wanted a traditional R.C. mass with the vows .. no bells or whistles added.

W'd like to but our ceremony is set to be outside & we were thinking w'd skip it. We're trying to avoid the sand thing since my FI can't stand that Trista & Ryan did it. If anyone has an alternative I'd love to hear it!

I feel the same way and don't know why. Personally, I don't care for it.

Not doing it. We are making the ceremony as simple as possible.

We didn't do it. Our priest also didn't see the need for it.

We will do the same. Apparently the candle's are a newer tradition.

We arent doing it either, even though when I see how pretty some of them are I kind of want to.
