Anyone else quit smoking?

I quit smoking 20 days ago and have saved $100!! It's sad that I'm only 25 and I have been smoking for 11 years. I joined the quitnet but its not as interesting as this site. Is there anyone else out there like me?

I quit in September YAY! I also just started working out again (CURVES FOR WOMEN) so that I can maintain my weight (I started gaining after I quit)

Good luck with it, and remember it gets easier every single day!!!

In March it will be 1 year!!!!!
I am 27 and started smoking when I was 15. It was tough to quit and I still miss it at times but I am so proud of myself for doing it!

I quit cold turkey in September I promised my FH I would quit before we got married. So when he moved to Michigan I wanted to surprise him. I didn't plan on quitting until I took the bar but I haven't had a cigarette since (have been smoking for about 10 years) and have even hung out at a few bars, and gone to restaurants with friends who smoke and at first it was hard now I only get the craving when I have a few drinks and I have resisted the urge so far....

I just wanted to say that you should all be so proud of yourselves for quitting!! That is great! I have no quit yet, but plan to once the wedding is over ...we want to have a child asap, so I definitely want to stop before I get pregnant.

Big hugs to all of you!!!

Re: Anyone else quit smoking?

Today is 6 months for me smoke free What an accomplishment, I am so proud of myself- this is the longest I have gone w.out a cigarrette in years. Its strange, for months I was OK, and the past week I have been getting the weirdest cravings for a smoke. Not strong, I just thought I was done w. them! I just take every day as it comes, and if I dont smoke that day its a victory

I have found that when I am in a smoky bar it bothers me a lot now, irritates my eyes and everythng. And to think I was a pack a day smoker at one time.

hmichick I hear you - Actually when you mentioned 6 months I realized it really has been 6 months. I know what you mean about the smoke at the bars. I went to a club about 3 weeks ago with my MOH for a casting call for her and I have had sinus problems since then. It never bothered me before. Go figure.
Congrats on 6 months

Yes I quit too - I still cannot believe it. I quit about a year and 9 months ago and have saved over $2,800 at the old prices !!!!!

I found a message board somewhere - I think it was AOL nicotine addiction or something like that. It was kinda like the atmosphere here. They were very supportive and it really helped me through. (Though I don't think I was as nearly addicted as I find myself here too!)

Good luck and FM me for support if you need - ANYTIME!!!

I quit smoking today!! i hope it lasts, because i am going through asthma inhalers once a week!

I think the reason i dont want to quit is the weight gain.. but i have no choice i CAN NOT breathe at all anymore..

So i have like 12 hours nicotine free!!! YAAY!!!

I quit a little over 2 years ago. I used the patch, and i haven't even had ONE since the day I started the patch. I gained a little weight when i quit, but weight watchers got rid of it.
I quit soon after i started dating FH. He HATES smoking but i had wanted to quit anyway.... he was my support system.
It was hard to quit before cuz i used to live with a smoker.

I swear by Nicorette, I could not have quit without it. It is expensive, but SO worth it. FH was so pleased that I did not become a total raving b*tch like I usually did when I quit Quitting is not easy, I was really grateful for the extra help.

ABSOLUTELY!!! I had no withdrawal symptoms other than wanting a cig every once in awhile... I became a coffee addict... but i wasn't a raving lunatic.
