Anyone else religiously watch Bridezillas and think this?

I had to ask, am I crazy or is it a prerequisite for any brides that want to be featured on Bridezillas to be
1. A criminal
2. Trashy with a filthy trash talking mouth
3. A druggie or alcoholic

I understand the concept, but these girls lately are OFF THE RESERVATION!

My fav is last week's new Bridezilla Stephanie, who abuses prescription meds...where do they find these class acts?

I also enjoyed Alicia, the trashy classless girl who apparently had a baby at 14 and was arrested for assaulting her new hubby, as well as Maria, the raging alcoholic!!!!

I can't recall a single bride this season who didn't have some underlying problem unrelated to the wedding!!!

I just put it on now so I don't miss Platinum Weddings...and since the Sopranos are over, I am out of ideas for Sunday night!

Interestingly, WE did not start Bridezillas..In 2003, when I lived in Manhattan, one of the local networks started this show, and the brides were mean, but they all were classy and well spoken...no one was living trailer fabulous, and there were no counting of the number of beers a bride could consume in a few hours! Nor did anyone pop a xanax and consider popping its friend valium!

I think as the seasons go by they need more **** to keep their viewers interested!!! The 1st season wasn't bad at all, not even the second one but, they are getting worse and I watch them but, not they don't interest me as much anymore.

I agree...there is a difference between interesting and pathetic...WE is now 5,000,000 miles over that line! If i wanted to watch this garbage, I would watch Jerry Springer, who I can't stand! I work in Family Court, I see this in real life every day...I don't need to watch it on my day off!

I don't get it!!!! I always feel like they intentionally choose these type of chicks!! Why can't they put a normal girl on there who gets bridezilla right b/4 ??!!

OMG I did the same thing. FH looked at me and was like oh ok, it's really not that bad for me
FH and I are hooked on Platinum Weddings.

thats hilarious but so true. i watched it the first season also, and although it was crazy, it was no close to what it's like now...

i do however, love platinum weddings. its so classy and you get good ideas from that show...!!!! i love it!

I agree! The women they have on there were already screwed up before the wedding, so they’re not so much Bridezillas as Girlzillas or something.

I hate to admit it, but I took bridezillas off my DVR! Its just getting to be too much for me. some of the people are so stupid! And its always trashy people whose weddings are usually very ugly. I prefer to watch wedding shows where I may be able to get some ideas for my own wedding details. I still watch it once in a while- but not like i used to!

Why is it when a bride wants something particular and has tons of money to get it, she has exquisite taste and just knows what she wants, but when a bride who has limited means insists on specifics, she is a BRIDEZILLA?

I think because on Platinum weddings the brides calming say' I would like all those flowers with jewels and calmly write a check for it where as the bridezillas SCREAM EVERYTHING THEY SAY.... and throw tantrums becuase they WANT $10,000 in flowers but want to spen $500 getting it.
Just seems like the Bridezillas are always in some sort of postiion of being p*ssed off... a lot I think is because they are also trying to control and do everything themselves...... whereas the platinum brides have very competent coordiators, in a classy place...not in a hall where they are decorating themselves... that is STRESS..

on that note.. not only do I watch EVERY show, I tivo them and watch them over and over when there is nothing on..
PURE ENTERTAINMENT...LOL!!!

I sit through Bridezillas just to get to Platinum Weddings...I really loved the Italian style wedding where the groom almost died and they had the doctor who saved him there...I thought that was so sweet....

But, here is what I find perplexing....

Why is it when a bride wants something particular and has tons of money to get it, she has exquisite taste and just knows what she wants, but when a bride who has limited means insists on specifics, she is a BRIDEZILLA?

Because, I'm sad to say, that money talks and brings the respect.

I heard that the girls on Bridezillas get a free honeymoon to a Sandal's resort if they are on the show...Most of the people get married in their HS gyms or their backyards (not very nice ones...) and probably cannot afford a nice honeymoon....I think that attracts a certain type of person. I couldn't agree more that they get the craziest women on this show (ie: the one girl who kept calling her bridesmaids 'heffers'....I would walk out if I were her friends....but they didnt!)

and like the rest of you....I am completely ADDICTED! haha =)

That is so unfortunate! These girls are off their rockers, yes, but how about the rest of the general population that insist on, lets say, having a dress shipped more than 2 weeks before a wedding? Why is that girl a bridezilla? Because she is rightfully upset?

I have an answer, it is like the Tootsie Roll commercial: How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Roll Pop? The world will never know? Because this will remain a great mystery to me!
