We paid off each vendor, one at a time in full instead of small deposits. Sort of how we want to do our credit cards

tell me about it. we're falling a little short. I'm gonna have to bring out the emergency card for some stuff.

We are cutting it real close! We have been putting things in order of importance. That really helps. Also don't forget about bottle returning. Tee Hee

Re: anyone else scrounging for money

About a month before the wedding my husband & I tallied up all the costs of things that we spent money on. We almost passed out!!! It's definately not cheap to get married.

Don't worry it will work out!!

I threw a huge fit last week at FH b/c he drove work - with parking only costs $5 a day more then if he took the train. The poor guy dosent even eat lunch and I flipped how $5 a day is nothing to him but its really $100 a month that we can put twords the wedding!!! I bit the poor guys head off - meanwhile the only reason he drove is so he could get home and see me and his son sooner

eta - Im sure money will get tighter as the days get closer.

Oh my gosh! You just made me realize: I used to get PAID for working! Now, my paycheck is spent before I even receive it!

Im sure he knows you're just frantic.

I never let Jim put gas in the car until it's dead empty and even then I make drive my car first until IT's empty and only THEN put gas in both cars. So in essense we buy gas once for two cars.

It works out because we drive my car on the weekends (it's better on gas milage) and now that the weather is getting better my car will become primary until it's too hot to drive (broken AC).

That and I think Jim is fed up with Pasta for dinner. But it's so cheap!

He wants to buy 'this' and 'that' and I feel like a sourpuss b/c I say NO.....and I remind him, we have a list of people we need cash for to TIP, we need $$ for your suit, to pay the vendors in CASH, and he seems to just forget all this, and I can't stop thinking about this!

Yes and we have quite a few months to go..every penny goes to bills or 'the wedding fund'

We sat down and went over our budget on Sunday and things are not looking good. We just don't have enough money, plus we are going to 4 weddings this year! He's in one and I'm in one - oh the expenses just keep adding up. I think our honeymoon is going to be a little less extravegant than we originally planned. Hawaii and Italy are way too much!

Re: anyone else scrounging for money

Okay, you gotta laugh!! We have received 3 checks for overpayment ---which is like found money, and I have not deposited b/c I want to put them in the wedding fund, which is going to be today...Well, I never never shred anything, but today I decided to shred the statements, well one of the statements I shreded was the CHECK, and the Statement is in my hand! I guess that is what I get for being greedy?!!!!

i have to say we went over it this weekend...and i thik we might jUST make it..... since our engagment my WHOLE paycheck goes into the 'wedding account' and we have been living off of his check for bills, gas, food, EVERYTHING!

it amkes me sad sometimes that we dont get to do a real lot...but we do i guess.sparingly..and we'll appreciate it int he end..and maybe continue this trend for a house

Rolling quarters is my new hobby!!

Anyone else feel like their FH isn't quite as aware of how much this costs?

I'm the one writing all of the checks and managing the money (in my true control-freak nature) and he's giving me his half, but I don't think it is registering in his head how expensive this is!!

He thinks we will get it ALL back from our guests at the wedding, but that's soooo not realistic. I keep telling him that, but he kind of shrugs it off. He's in money denial!!

Ohhh...FH and I had this conversation yesterday. He got his tax refund and guess what he wants to do.....BUY A FREAKIN' DISHWASHER! Why bc is a$$ is too lazy to wash the dishes when I cook. We are renting what the he11 are we gonna do when we move. UGH!

Then he gives me the speech about how all our money can't go towards the wedding. He's so oblivious to how much things cost. He was with me when we booked all the vendors, so I know he was aware of the cost. He wants all the bells and whistles, but doesn't think about the extra cost.

why dont you compromise? since its the 2 of you and you rent get the counter top dishwasher!!! they arent really expensive ( ive seen them at target) and its more then enough for the 2 of you.. and you can take it when you leave. - then put the rest of the $$ twords the wedding
