We set one and we have adjusted it a few times, but it's not that far off .... We are still doing OK, we'll see what the coming months have in store though!

Re: Anyone else's budget gone to he$$?
We didn't really have a budget, it was just try to spend as little as possible, I made an estimated budget before we started planning and we have only gone over that a little...even so..thinking about having to pay off all these people can make you sick

We originially didnt set a budget - then we set a priliminary budget and then raised it 10 times- so in reality there is no budget

Re: Anyone else's budget gone to he$$?
so far so good, but i know there are items i have yet to account for...
also, for us it really depends on the number of guests that show up. we could be potentially looking at a 6/7K difference when the responses come in...

Re: Anyone else's budget gone to he$$?
I am not sure. The only thing that might send us a lot over is how many RSVP's we get. Right now we are concerned about making our minimum becuase we have so many OOT people so we'll see. Also haven't done flowers yet sowho knows.
Trying not to go too far over but all these little things keep adding up.

Re: Anyone else's budget gone to he$$?
I never made one overall budget, but budgeted/estimated how much everything would cost. We blew that when we booked the Garden City Hotel. Since then, everything seems to be over. I keep saying we will spend less somewhere.

That's the part that is worrying ... 10,20,30,40,50 more guests can be a HUGE difference in the price of the wedding reception!
Everything else has be really close to budget - some lower than expected, some higher than expected but nothing that we were shocked at.

We haven't been too bad on our wedding, but our honeymoon is costing almost $3000 more than we budgeted!!

yeah, we did the following math:
min = 80 target = 100 max (we want to pay for) = 125
we planned for the 'worst case scenario', but have 179 on our guest list so far. mom says to send all and see what happens. i was freaking at first, but since 1/2 our list is OOTers, we should be fine...

We have: Min: 180 Target: 190 Guest List: 250, possible down to 220 if we really really really try ... it's gonna be tough thouh, I got down to 250 with a lot of difficulty.

it's sooooo tricky! but i have heard the more OOTers and higher the overall number, the more regrets. unless one has a huge, close family, i think this is pretty accurate...

Re: Anyone else's budget gone to he$$?
We will probably have 150, wanted and budgeted for 120, so that's where our budget went out the window. But it shouldn't be too bad anyway.

About 120-150 is close close family, another 50-70 is close friends of the family ... the only ones I can see not coming at this point is co-workers and maybe some friends of my parents ... YIKES!

Re: Anyone else's budget gone to he$$?
It's really the reception that's left that's going to kill us financially. At least I'm getting a little money for it from my parents. But we're inviting around 185 people. I hope, hope, hope, no more than 150 people RSVP that they're coming.
