Anyone else's mom being kind of a diva?

Anyone else's mom being kind of a diva?

So my mom is very insistant that she get her hair and makeup did by M*i*a, which is fine, because I know that my BP is not going to spring for that kind of money. My sister has a friend who is a professional hair and makeup artist, that I would like to hire/invite to do the other girls, should they want their hair or makeup done.

So my mother said no, that she cannot come to the house to do the girls, because she doesn't want a commotion and wants to make sure that M*i*a has enough time to do her! Which really is neither here nor there, since they would not be using her anyways. So she is saying that she would not like any of the girls to arrive until 1, just when the photographers arrive, so she can be done up without disturbance, and now I cannot get ready with my BP.

Is anyone else's mom kinda forgetting who's the bride? LOL.

It's a little bit different for me because I'm older, don't live at home and FH and I are paying for everything ourselves. However, I am getting ready at my mom's house with her and my sisters.

My mom started again on Easter about her hair/makeup/flowers/dress, etc., to which I replied 'You're absolutely right, after all, it's your special day.' I thought my aunt (her older sister)was going to pee in her pants!

That has become my standard reply to her whenever something wedding-related pops up.

Totally! I have a mom and step-mom! My mom got a dress that is alittle to bridal gown for me. She also keeps talking about how good she is going to look at that she lost all this weight so that everyone will say how good she look! Im like ok there!

Honestly? Talk to her. Let her know how you feel.

You can also have your mom set up in HER bedroon, while the living room is set aside for you and your girls.

TELL mom how important it is for you!!

my mom wants me to get a longer veil and to wear pearls ......well I dont want to wear no stinking pearls ( no necklace at all actually) and I am only wearing the veil for her since she insists ( felt like a trapped tuna in it)

other than that she has been ok but has her momments my older sister eloped ( smart!) so I am feeling her wrath lol

My Mom insisted on getting the same color dress as the BMs. Well she doesn't think it's the same color because it has a different name, but it's the same damn color.

aww for all of you. . that sounds hard to deal with. .. I actually wish my mom would be more of a diva. .she's wearing a dress she wore to my step sisters wedding four years ago and couldn't care less about hair and makeup. . I mean I know she will want to look good but doesn't do the whole MOB thing. .

My mom, who is normally no frills, no makeup, I'm wearing the same jeans I've had since you were 12, insisted on getting airbrushed makeup. She had it for my sister's wedding and was apparently a big fan so when I mentioned doing regular, she was like nope, I want airbrushing. Since she rarely cares about stuff like that I totally went along with it but then I made fun of her for being a diva for the next 4 months.

But I'm sorry everyone's mom is a little crazy.

lol ut ohhhh you have a momzilla on your hands... it reminds me of that episode of bridezillas when the mother of this girl was a TOTAL momzilla (the one with the short hair)....omg one of the best episodes!

Hopefully you can talk to her and let her know how you feel and hopefully she'll understand

Um YEAH!!! I too have a complete, 100% Momzilla. MOMZILLA (said in loud looming Japanese accent). I think in your case you should just let this simmer for now, and then in a couple of months revisit the topic. You should be able to set your mom up in her quarters with M ia and your girls could get done up in the kitchen or living room like Juhgail suggested. You should be able to have whatever getting ready experience you had in mind for your special day, and your mom is going to have to compromise to make that happen for you!!! It's about you love!!! My mom wanted to get ready at the RH and have her makeup done there. I just wasn't cool with it. She stresses me out a lot, and having her there just down the hall would stress me out. I want my time!!! Good luck girl!!!

My mom was a total diva for my wedding! She took longer to find her dress that I did to find mine!
