Get bit by a tick? I'm not sure if a tick bit me or not, about a week ago. At first it looked kinda like a mosquito bite but had a small pimple (or so it looked like) in the middle. A few days ago, my skin had a bunch of red patches around it, so I pretty much ruled out the possibility of it being a tick, and thought it was some type of allergic reaction. Now my FH is freaking out that it's been a week and I have some type of weird disease. I don't have a bullseye or anything, but he thinks it still could be a tick.
Oh and I have the worst DR ever and it takes forever to get an appointment with him, so I think I have to wait till next week before he'll see me. Help??

Re: Anyone ever...
I've never been bit by one, but from what I understand, it's really only something to worry about if you find the engorged insect on your body. It will be burrowed into your skin and full of blood. My FSIL's bf just got bit and found the bug on (errr, in... ewww) his skin, but it was not engorged with blood so the doctor said he shouldn't be concerned.
But don't take any of our words for it, it sounds like you are having a reaction to something and you should get it checked out!

Re: Anyone ever...
I've found a couple on me in years past but was never bitten, luckily. I'd suggest going to a doc to get it checked out. Better to be safe than sorry.

Re: Anyone ever...
I just had something similar happen to me. I thought I got bit by something, had a bunch of what looked like mosquito bites on my leg, but then broke out in a rash. Thought it may have been bed bugs, since I had just stayed at a hotel, but ruled that out after the bites seemed to disappear and the rash appeared. To make a long story short, I went to a walk in clinic because my primary dr is also impossible to get an appt with. They put me on prednisone and its clearing up. Definitely go see a doctor or a clinic as soon as you can! HTH!

Do you have any animals, could it be flea bites?

I do have a kitten, but I was away for the weekend when I got bit! My friend that I was staying with has no pets.

Re: Anyone ever...
My SIL just recently got bit by one and it was bad pretty quick, then she went on the meds they give you for it and they made her really sick. If that is what a tick bite then get it taken care of ASAP. The medication for it made her sicker than the bite itself.

Re: Anyone ever...
I got bitten by a tick a couple years ago, and I never got the bulls eye around it thankfully. But I went for a blood test a couple months after just to be sure I didn't have lyme's disease. Long story short, I didn't have it after all, but it's always good to get it checked by a doctor just in case

Re: Anyone ever...
I got bit a couple weeks ago...a week later i got really sick, high temp, body aches & dizzyness...I called the dr, went in...he took a look at my ankle where i got bit and said it didnt look like my sickness was from the tick bite, he said the tick has to be attached to you for 24 hrs and full of blood to give you lymes. they took my blood anyway and everything came back normal (the following day I realized I had strep, which ****** because it was my best friends wedding day and I was the maid of honor!!) but they also say that it can take a month for any kind of disease to show up in your blood...so they want me to come back in a few weeks to be retested... So i think your fine, unless you start not feeling well...they say that you can get flu like symptoms if its lymes!! Good Luck!
