Besides for Belmont stakes? A bunch of friends are going over the weekend and I am just not sure if I would be into it. I been there for the stakes and it was fun, but on a regular day i just think it will be dead and boring..anyone been there on a regular weekend?

It's a lot of fun. A bunch of us go but we sit outside in the park area. We have coolers of beer(no glass allowed), food, etc. The park has picnic tables and chairs. There is also a playground for kids. They have big tvs showing the races and the betting booths are right outside too. I prefer doing this than being inside (unless it's the nice restaurant). You should go, you'll have fun

I went for the first time a few weekends ago and it was fun. In the picnic area - people were having fun and there was live music. We mostly just watched the races - I don't gamble but I still had fun. We had a nice group and we had a few beers and kicked back and relaxed. It was more fun and relaxing than I thought it would be. The grounds were much nicer than I thought it would be too!

I've been there plenty of times with my folks and we have always had a great time. You can sit in the back.. watch the horses in the paddock.. pack a picnic.. and enjoy a beautiful summer day. And it might be a little crowded but definitely not OVERLY crowded.
Then again.. don't expect a rah- rah crowd of 20 somethings there either. Mostly families and some stinky old guys.. LOL
If you go, just be prepared to chill.. enjoy the day... your friends... the horses.. and hopefully you'll hit the daily double!

I've gone before but I was in the clubhouse I think. It's pretty nice up there--great food and drinks with TVs of all the races going on at other tracks plus an outdoor area where you can sit and watch the races.

I think its actually more fun than on the Belmont Stakes day... its really relaxing and there is no line for the bathroom (my big complaint about the day of the Belmont)... its very laid back.
