Hello there! Today is FH's birthday, and part of his present is a weekend in Cooperstown (even though he's a sportswriter/editor for a baseball network, he's never been!). Does anyone have any recommendations, especially of places to eat and good bars to hang out in at night? We're going next month, and we're staying overnight in Oneonta.
i used to live in oneonta..try the otasaga..i think that's how you spell it..its a beautiful hotel and the food is excellent. have fun and enjoy it..take the boat trip too!!
Cooperstown is really nice. My cousins live right outside Oneonta and we go visit them at least once a year. Oneonta is a college town so there are tons of bars. If you haven't booked a hotel yet the new Clarion in the town of Oneonta is nice. It's right in town and basically within walking distance of everything. If you guys like BBQ type food Brooks is really good. Hope this helps.
Thanks for the advice! I already booked the Rainbow Inn and Suites (it was inexpensive, and I am pretty po' right now!). It seemed nice from the website. But I'm glad to get the dining recommendations...
brooks is delicious but its on the outskirts of oneonta..if you're dining in oneonta then don't go to ianellis because it used to be delicious but the owner is really sick and the place has gone downhill. you could try christophers or sabatinis..fm me if you need anything else..i lived there for 7 years!!
