I am going to Seattle in February for work. Has anyone ever been? What's there to do? Thanks!

Re: Anyone ever been to Seattle?
I used to live there. It is absolutely beautiful...it's almost hard to imagine why anyone would ever choose to live anywhere else!
Unfortunately, Feb. is Seattle is pretty miserable. It will be rainy all day, every day... it's just a gentle mist but it somehow manages to nevertheless screw up all your outdoor plans.
Still, Mt. Ranier is breathtaking no matter the weather. (Depends on the snow, though - some of the roads close in winter.) You can rent snowshoes and play on the mountain all day. It's chilly but not super-cold.
Indoors, all visitors have to check out Pike Place - it's where they throw fish to customers. There are tons of little mom and pop shops. Nothing special, but one of those Seattle 'must-do's'.
Unless it's perfect blue skies (which it won't be), don't bother going up to the Space Needle. You won't be able to see anything.
There's tons of other stuff...what kinds of things do you like to do?

I've been -- It was beautiful. We went to the Music Experience, which is great if you're into rock. We also went to a Mariner / yankee game, which you can't do in Feb.
But if you like to shop, it's great! My DH had a conference, so I was alone most of the day. I managed to keep myself very busy in all the shops. The Nordstrom was beyond great.
Enjoy.

I love Seattle! One of my best friends lives there and I love visiting. I second a trip to Mount Rainer - it really is beautiful and Pikes Market it a must see.
You will have a great time - you won't want to come home!

Thanks girls - Mt. Rainier- do you just hike up? I've heard of it but don't know what to do there! lol! And also, Pike's Market- is it a place to eat or just a fish market?
I LOVE to shop and think my hotel is close to some shopping center with Nordstroms- we're staying at a Hilton by the convention center if that gives you an idea of where I'll be....
