Anyone ever bought Designer Shoes/Handbags off of Ebay?

I am quite interested in some Cole Haan sandals and some Coach bags that seem authentic, but I'm wary because it's ebay. Any thoughts?

Check the seller's feedback, and if the product usually comes with a certificate of authenticity, make sure they're sending it with your purchase. Also, a lot of the inexpensive coach things come from the coach outlet, and you're better off just going there to save money. A LOT of the coach stuff on ebay is fake. Be wary if the price is too low. Also, I have yet to see any real pink or baby blue coach signature bags or hats on ebay, they all seem to be fake. In fact, most of the signature stuff is fake because it is in such high demand it rarely gets to the factory stores, and when it does, it sells out quickly.

Ask if they will post receipt picture, or the inside of the bag/shoes...or if you are douibtful, send them an email and ask them if its authentic...they are not allowed to say it is authentic if it is not....be careful....there are alot of coach replicas on there...I wanted one of the pink coach crusher hats, but all the ones posted had a pink band of leather on them, when in reality, the band is like a light khaki color....do a seach on here, someone posted ebay pictures vs. coach pictures, check it out!! GOod Luck@!

A lot of my pics in the old post aren't working because coach.com is sold out of the pink.

Good luck, I searched two coach stores, and three macy's this weekend looking for anything pink coach signature but everyone was sold out. It's even sold out on coach.com. I'm so bummed! Oh well, I guess I'm better off.

There IS authentic stuff on Ebay from good sellers. Ask for recipts fromthe original purchase, see if they have serial #s etc.

Shoes are probably a safe bet. I've never seen fake coach shoes. Have you checked Century 21, or maybe Off Fifth? I believe I've seen coach shoes at both places for really good prices.

Jennbaby is right, most of the coach stuff on ebay is real, it just seems that there is a lot of fake stuff floating around recently.

How do you authenticate a COach bag? I know there are like 5 things you look for to see if it's real....do you guys know?

I've never heard that, but if you find out what the 5 ways are, I'd love to know. I do know that every bag has a stamp of authenticity with serial number embossed inside, but a lot of the fake ones have that too. I dunno, it's hard to tell sometimes. I went to a flea market (not in LI) and they were selling a lot of fake coach stuff, and you could barely tell. Does the auction offer dimensions? If it does, check them against the dimensions of the bag on the coach site. You can fm me the link to the auction, and I'll tell you if I think it's real. I swear, I'm not interested in buying anything FH might kill me if I walk in with another handbag, or pair of shoes!

If a seller on Ebay lists something as authentic, and its not, thats a serious thing on Ebay.

I got a Louis Vuitton wallet off Ebay and it's authentic.

Thrilled I know with coach, the serial # is sewn inside & a registration card, thats really all

I know that sellers aren't supposed to list things as authentic when they arent, but this seller is saying that everything is authentic, and I don't think one thing is. Take a look at this hat It isn't real, the fabric has a sheen, and the band is the wrong color. And the seller has 99.3% good feedback.
Another time, I bought a Kate Spade bag that was supposedly authentic, but when I got it, it wasn't real. Was I really expecting a real kate spade bag for $40? Not really, but the seller guaranteed that it was real.
Other times, I have bought things on ebay, and they've been perfect. I guess it's kind of a gamble, and the best way of getting around fake stuff is using common sense. If the price is too low, or if the seller is listing ten identical bags, I would think twice.
