I'm having regrets and i'm just wondering what happens if i cancel my order after it has been in production or if i can just have production stoped until i go and try on some more dresses and make up my mind for sure. Anyone have any experience with this?

Re: anyone ever canceled a dress?
a lot of places don't let you.. is there a contract on your receipt??
some places as long as you order another dress of that same brand will put a credit towards another dress..
your best bet is to call the salon you got it from..
good luck!!

Re: anyone ever canceled a dress?
i didnt do this but did you get a contract with your dress, it will say it on there. Each store might be different but my contract said i can cancel an order and put the deposit towards another dress as long as it wasn't in production yet, once it was in production i had to pay full amount. Again, might be where i bought it from but once a dress is specially ordered for you might be a bit tough. CALL ASAP and talk to them about it

Re: anyone ever canceled a dress?
i did....i ordered my dress from rk bridal...later that night i started having serious doubts. The next day we called them and they said the order had already been placed (i am not sure if this is true bc it was less than 24 hrs later...but thats what they said). They said they were going to keep our deposit (half the cost of the dress) and charge a cancellation fee. After a few days of back and forth with them they cancelled the dress and only charged the cancellation fee so my mom got most of her deposit back. When this whole thing happened my mom was like seriously i dont care about the money i just want you to love your wedding dress!!
i know every store is different, but def see what they can do... if nothing else maybe they can even give u a credit towards another dress in their store. you might lose some money but its worth it if you are really feeling unhappy about ur dress.
good luck!!

Thanks. Yeah, I'm sure i;ll probably lose my deposit, even if I keep my dress, I want to change the color and if it's in production already i'm sure i'll lose my deposit and have to pay for anotehr dress. I 'm just worried they will make me pay for the balance of the dress. I called and they are contacting lazaro and said they will get back to me by tomorrow

i believe the NYS law is you can cancel any contract within 72hours of signature without penalty. After 72hours it depends on the business' rule - hth

thats bs if you called 24 hours later, even if they put your order through i really doubt they started making your dress and if they did, what could they have possibly done in such a short period of time. Its like they just want to give people trouble.
I had called 2 days after i purchased dress just to put on hold for a week while i went back and tried both dresses i was deciding between. I was able to do that.
The only time you have to pay full amount of dress even if they order is if they start working on your dress

the 72 hour rights of recission only applies if you sign the contract off premises as in not in their store

the person who picked up probably had no clue what they were doing, and probably a manager or someone had to correct them. At least you got deposit back in the end.

Re: anyone ever canceled a dress?
this just happened on say yes to the dress, about 2 weeks ago. the girl canceled her dress, lost her deposit & when she went back to look at dresses again, she ended up picking the same exact dress. which actually went up in price so i think she has to lay out more money.
