Anyone ever get a Chromosome Analysis before Conceiving?
I tried to find out some info on the internet? I was just wondering exactly what they can detect before actually getting pregnant? I can't find too much info.

We didn't get one done before conceiving but we did have a chromosome analysis done on the baby at 16 weeks. In our case, DH is a carrier of an an abnormal inverted chormosome that if passed on could have caused severe mental retardation in our child.
Different chromosome cause different deficiencies though.

Thank you! I am getting a blood test to test our chromosomes. I wish they had a website to check all the different diseases that they are checking for.

I was never tested but DH was tested to pinpoint exactly which chromosome was affected in his case. He knew he had it because he'd been tested before but it was so long ago that the hospital in the UK couldn't find the records.
Then I did an amnio to test the baby's chromosomes.
