I'm having the hardest time finding jeans that fit right.
Anyone ever had custom jeans made? if so, from where?
or can you recommend a brand I should try?

Levi's makes custom-made jeans. You can go to the Levi's store in the city and they'll do it for you. It's pretty cool and not as much as people would think.

really?! I had no idea! Hmmm...do they only do it in the city?
I was looking on-line but if I can go somewhere and they can measure me I'd rather that (b/c I'm scared I'd screw it up!)

I'm not sure if they do it elsewhere. You can ask them. And it's totally customized--fit, material, style, size...and I think they even dunk in water, dry it and have you try it on to see how the size will change.

I believe the original one is on Lexington and they have two others--on Broadway and on 57th between 5th and 6th.
I think it takes 2 to 3 weeks for custom jeans.

I think they start at about $70. I think it's a great idea because if you have one great pair of jeans that fit perfectly, there is no need for the other 10 pairs that don't fit.

I just called the Levi's store in NYC and they DON'T do the custom jeans anymore.
they said they stopped about a year and a half ago.
guess i'll keep looking......

How about An Earnest Cut and Sew--they make their jeans right on the premises.
fyi you can get jeans tailored- like in the crotch, waist and length. so, if you like something about a jean but a little something needs to be altered, dont be afraid. the seamstress is your friend and will make you feel like your clothes custom fit!
