Also, how awesome would it be to have one of these in my house!!
I have to answer with a big: 'Not very' on that one.

Re: Anyone ever hear of pet day-care?
it's very big down here in the South....they are all over the place, and some are day cares, just for when you are at work while others are for when you go away for a bit

I would love it....imagine...a cash business I can do from home. And I love animals! I wouldn't have too many..maybe 5.

My mother does some dog-sitting, mostly when people are out of town for a couple days. The dogs come and stay at their house. But I can see it being pricey for something during the day while you are at work.

Yep - FMIL has used one in Selden I believe a few times for various things (when they were moving, had parties, etc.)

Re: Anyone ever hear of pet day-care?
I looked into this when we first brought Golem home bc I felt really bad leaving him alone all day when he was just a baby, but I wasn't able to find anything in Nassau county I feel like the few that I know of are all in Suffolk county - I wish there were more of these on LI, it would really be nice to know my dog is getting exercise and socialization while we're not home!
ETA - oh yeah, the prices I saw were ridiculous too... I just don't have that kind of money!
