Re: anyone ever listed an item on ebay?
I listed A LOT of stuff on there for my mom in the past.
I'm not nervous about paypal at all. I've never had a problem. And no, they don't notify you when someone bids. If you have a counter down you can at least see how many people looked. oh, on your main page it shows you how many people are watching your item too.

Re: anyone ever listed an item on ebay?
I did my email setting like 100 years ago, but I don't get emails when i get bids. I'm always tracking the auctions anyway, so there's no need.
Your paypal account, like the email address, isn't out there until the item is purchased and only the buyer can see it when they pay
Don't worry; selling is GREAT!

Pay Pal is the safest way to sell on ebay. I'm pretty sure that they do email you when someone bids. Beware of scammers from Nigeria who send you strange messages like: 'I want to buy this for my son who is on 'holiday', Please send me your email address so I can...' Usually they only go for the people who are selling expensive stuff like gold.
Other than that, pay pal is safe. ANd the other posts are right, you only get email if it is purchased. Silly me!

Yes, but not only gold, cars and high prices electronics too. FH lists cars on ebay and gets a scam email at least once per listing. The scammers are everywhere, there's no way to avoid them. Ebay and paypal are ultra helpful when it comes to this sort of thing. Whenever I get a weird email or message, I forward it to them and they let me know what the deal is.

I do all the time and papal is 100% secure. Your username will appear on the bill not your real name or any personal info.

I do all the time and never worry about paypal, its 100% safe. I even collected all the money for the 2010 shower via paypal.
Also, they do not email you when their are bids, only when there is a question from someone.

i used to sell on ebay a lot...don't worry about paypal. i never had a problem with it, its secure. Also, they don't email you when someone bid but when someone buys so you have to watch it. Also if there's a minimum amount you want for it then put that in as your reserve price
