Yes, I read a novel called _The Ice Age_. Very tedious indeed. Lots of middle-aged characters whining about their lost youth and such.

Oh good, I thought maybe I was just being dense! I'm reading 'The Witch of Exmoor' and it just seems like she hates all of her characters. As though she finds it really annoying that she has to write a story about them.
Also, I finally saw 'The Life Aquatic'!

With a name like Drabble I can't see myself liking any of her stuff

Exactly. _The Ice Age_ is the same. If you hate your characters, why the heck did you invent them?????
How did you like _Life Aquatic_? Fear not: I will not fly into a tizzy if you hated it!

I loved 'The Life Aquatic'... but I'm not sure why. It's so bizarre and funny and really sad. I have to watch it again, just to make sure I caught everything.

Definitely watch it again... it's hard to catch all the visual details. I've seen it probably five times now (and I still cry at the shark scene at the end).

Oh that scene was excellent and I did cry. And that line 'I wonder if he remembers me'... Bill Murray was so good.

That's exactly the line that gets the tears flowing!
I love Bill Murray. I was livid when he didn't get an Oscar for _Lost in Translation_.
