Ive never flown so i convinced FH to take the autotrain, it leaves out of washington DC, and then it drops u off just north of Orlando. The total time we are on the train is 16.5 hours, and we got a private room so we can sleep. anyone ever do this, im a little nervous lol

a friend of mine did, he lives in coral gabels, FL & we went to school in Southampton, so he did this so he can have his car, I'll call him tonight for you

Oh good, now im excited. It seems pretty cool, cause we can drive to DC wich ive done before plenty of times, my friend lives in that area, we hop on board, the train leaves at 4pm we have dinner in the dining car, and then we can go back to our room(if u can call it that) and we can sleep, then at 8am we are in florida lol and we get breakfast too. seems like it will be fun thanks for the info!

Denise, I really have no idea what we are doing for the honeymoon I really am scared to fly, but if we get it paid for by his grandparents, then i want to do something realy wild and outrageous and get on a plane and get it over with,
if we do something ourselves then we will take a cruise out of NY or FL and not fly

My FI did this ALL THE TIME while he was going to school in Florida and then had to come back home on long breaks and he had his car and he thought it was awesome. Hassle-free and care-free from Florida to Virginia. He didn't have a room so you are lucky there but he just chilled out and watched movies or read a book. The only thing he said was that there were a lot of old people and they would always talk to him and complain about price inflations and our generation today Like anywhere else make sure to have all of your important stuff with you since someone else does handle your car to put it on the train and depending on where they put your car be prepared to maybe wait awhile before it's returned to you. HTH!!

its not that bad, i mean think about it, your chances of getting into a car accident are alot higher than getting into a plane accident, infact walking down the street and getting hit by a car is more likely...But i do understand people who have a fear of flying can't just get over it easily...Well i hope you can get over it and go on a wild and outrageous HM

round trip with a regular car and a small room, was 850
we are bringing our big truck so its 200 more
if you just get a regular seat its probably around 650 roundtrip
