I've been talking to a recruiter who is hopefullly setting up an interview for me. Does she get paid by the company hiring, or do i have to pay?

Usually the company pays the firm his/her commission/fee.

Best of luck!!!!

She gets paid by the company that hires you. She gets a % based on your salary - which is incentive for her to get you a higher salary!

My uncle owned recruiting firms - you should never, ever pay them. Just like MRsTC said, they get their commision based on your salary, from the hiring co.

i work for a recruiting service/ staffing firm. The way that it works is that the recruiters charge a % of 1st years salary or a pre-agreed on flat fee. YOU should never owe the recruiter ANYTHING (unless you go against an agreement or something...but that is a whole different story!)

what kind of job is it?? GOOD LUCK!

Thanks for the info.. I wasnt told anything by her about paying, so I just didn't want to get a job and then owe money!

I work in the employment field and to answer your question the applicant never pays a thing, we get our commission from the client looking to hire.
