Ariel is a trip I actually liked this first episode and when Ruth saw the beach for the first time I almost cried, we take so many things for granted
Me too. It's true you never really know what you have till it's gone or or you realize what other people don't have!

I caught bits and pieces of it. Looks like another forced reality show!

Re: Anyone ever watch Amish in the city?
Why do the Amish kids have such weird accents? Didn't they grow up in America...I heard one of them say they read the bible in German. I am going to have to look up more info on them lol...

Re: Anyone ever watch Amish in the city?
According to an article I read, people are contending that the Amish kids on the show aren't really Amish. For example, apparently the girls have really deep, even suntans (impossible to get when wearing traditional Amish clothes) and one of them has a doll on her bed at home (dolls are considered 'craven images' by the Amish and are therefore taboo).
Then again, there are many different sects, and maybe one of them allows dolls and sunbathing!
ETA: I can't believe it! A reality show that might not be real!

i don't think they are real 'amish' b/c from what i know of going to lancaster and all - they would enevr be allowed to be photographed..thats why in pics you never see the amish's faces.....
