We just bought a house there - any good advice for us or places we should check out? We close next week.

My ex was from the area; he always used to rave about the Red Dish Grille & Martini Bar. I just have never been.
It's on Jericho Turnpike, west of Commack Red, on the south side. It's in a strip mall and it's on the end, on the east side of the strip mall.

I live in Commack and absolutely love it! Everything you need is on Jericho Turnpike. There's 3 supermarkets within 2 miles of each other, every type of cuisine you can think of is available[ japanese, chinese, indian, italian, chain restaurants, bbq] , and there are a bunch of department stores [Khols, Macy's, 2 target stores, BBB, sears, PC Richards]. Welcome, your going to love it!

I live in Hauppauge and just absolutely the love the whole commack, hauppauge, smithtown area...everything is very convenient...lots of great places to eat and lots of shopping within your reach!
what are you looking for exactly?
best sushi place on Long Island is in Commack- Nisen on Jericho Tpke- if you like sushi, it's def worth checking out.

I live nearby. Check out Baja Grill (mexican restaurant) in East Northport, Torcello's (Italian restaurant in same as Baja Grill). We like to take walks on the boardwalk at Sunken Meadow State Park. My fiancee is originally from Babylon and he has a whole list of restaurants and bars to go to as well. If you want a longer list just FM me! I hope this helps!!

I grew up in Smithtown/Hauppauge and lived in Commack for awhile. It's a great area, safe, good school districts and close to all major highways...you're going to like it there!

Hi! I live in Commack and love love love it!! As one of the girls mentioned Red Dish is great for drinks and apps...dont know if you get your eyebrows threaded, but Nina's on Commack Rd. is AWESOME!!

I grew up in East Northport, one town over. Commack is a great area. There is a COSTCO in Commack, right off the LIE. =) I second Red Dish. I can't say the food is fabulous, but it's good. I used to meet up with my friends every friday after work for drinks. I'm not sure if they still have it, but on Fridays they would set up a spread of free apps...occasionally a pasta station. Sometimes they have a one man band for entertainment, too. Their martini's are delish. Try the Chocolatini!!! Oh, one more thing...it's a tiny restaurant with a tiny bar. It can get crowded if you don't get their before 6. You will have to stand at the bar.
