Anyone familiar with movie gift cards?

For the secret santa I wanted to get a gift certificate to the movies... The guy I have to buy for has a girlfriend so I'm figuring they would like to have a date or two out to the movies.

My question: If I go to the Loews in Farmingdale on my way home from work-- can he go to any Loew's location?? Is there a gift card I can get that can be used at any movie theatre on the Island or does it have to be the same company as the card??

B/c there are Loews all over but then a place like Commack Movie Theatre is not a 'Loews' brand-- at least, I don't think it is...

I'm confused!! I just want to make sure he gets a gift that he can use at a ton of places...

Also, is this a good gift?? It will be for 30 bucks so I figure he can see a movie or two and get some popcorn while he's at it...

Yes you can use them @ any loews dani,, My mom is notorious for that ,
she buys the gift cards & then some popcorn candy & soda & wraps it in a basket for some of her friends kids,,,
& she always goes to the one by me, & they live all over ,,

In farmingdale, there are two theaters(that I know of) A National Amusement and a UA. In Levittown on Hempstead Tpke there is a Loew's. So, say you but the gift cert at the National Amusements theater they can use it at any national amusement theater-If you buy it at the UA they can use it at any regal cimema(UA is owned by Regal cinemas) and the same for Loew's-it can be used at any Loew's theater. There are more UA and Loew's on the island than National Amusements theaters

I think the movie g.c is a great idea!!! I think you can use them at any of the company's movie theatre ie - Loew's g.c can be used at any Loews movie theatre.
Better yet - you can get them a Fandango g.c and they can use it at any movie theatre and can even buy the tickets online.

you can get a AMC theater gift card. check out their website. You can type in a location and it will tell you what theaters it's good for. I believe it includes all loews theaters and more.

I don't know where he goes ya know?? It should just be a general gift card!! Screw that!! lol... Hmm, maybe a Commerce gift card that can be accepted anywhere with a bunch of movie related things like popcorn and stuff-- but then, is that weird b/c the popcorn I put in there is not from the movie theatre... lol ya know? Like, make this shiit at home and go to the movies-- LOL this sux!! hahaha

what about a blockbuster gift card & f the movie theater,, They can rent /but a movie eat some popcorn, even at blcok buster they have those tubs of popcorn & u can get the gift card , & some candy put it in the tub wrap it with clear paper & viola,, ???

I thought of that Toni-- but, what if he does that Net Flix crap??

And then it's a waste...

IDK if he does or not but the guys downstairs have spoken about Net Flix before...

Maybe he plays video games - they rent them there too....and he can also BUY movies at blockbuster if he does netflix.....Everyone can find a movie (or two) they LOVE that they don't have at home.

so what if he does net flix, i dont know what that is, but at best i mean he can buy a movie then, i mean i wouldnt kill myself over $30bucks,& dani block buster has music too no ??

lol i really don't care and i know- i just KNOW that i won't get nearly the 30 dollar limit-- and then how can i prove it and what can you say? nothing- i'll just have to succk it up and deal with the fact that i spent 30 bucks on something he probably doesn't like and then i'll get HAND SANITIZER from bath and body works in return lol!!
