Anyone feel guilty about taking a vaca while saving for wedding?
O.K. So it's another year til the honeymoon! So spur of the moment I booked a trip to Vegas at the end of July for FH's birthday! He has never been and I love it there soo... Finally...A VACATION!
I feel a little guilty since we really don't have the $ to spend with saving for the wedding, but this has been a tough year work wise for me and for him so I figure why not..its only 4 days!
Does anyone else have these issues about taking vacations?

No, I don't feel guilty. #1 - I've worked really hard to be where I am and if I want to take a vacation I will. #2 - nothing is impossible, if I'm not making enough money, I get another job whether it be babysitting, working retail, or waitressing.
Don't feel guilty! Just be smart!
Take your much-needed vacation and enjoy it!!!

my parents are going away this summer, actually my whole family is, on a family trip, but FH and I will be staying home because we can't justify spending the money.

omg! i feel terrible ...but i look at this way...i have never been on vaca with my girlfriends and porb wont be able to do it again for another couple of years ...and i work hard and i deserve it ...

I agree, seriously at this point I REALLY need one. It didnt even have to be big, fh and i had talked about AC, foxwoods and mohegan sun. It was easy for me bc FH planned the whole thing lol. Just go and relax and don't worry
And i agree, i said if i have to ill waitress or do something if it had to be done, im off weekends so can do it then
Besides i barely spend money and almost ALL of it has gone towards the wedding. I paid a decent amount to the RH so far, so it should be ok.

The wedding is jsut one day... why should you not have a life until then? I mean we all seem to spend less money on going out and things which is ok but I don't think you should feel guilty about spending money on a vacation.

we are going on a cruise in november and i do not feel guilty at all, lol. we could have saved the money but what the heck, you only live once!!

we went to Mohegan Sun for three nights last February and it was the best decision ever - WE NEEDED IT!!!

Well we felt guilty at first especially since both our parents are paying for alot! but they told us to just enjoy, so we were in Jamaica a month ago and going away again in August. oh well, you only live once right!!!!

Yeah I kinda feel a little guilty bec I am spending sooo much money on going away for a month, but then again its been a year since I went away so its OK, I will just have to work my a$$ off when I get back to work

yes! before we were engaged we booked a trip to Chicago in April (already passed) going there wasn't so bad. we had also planned a trip to cali in sept for my bday. we are still going. we feel bad but we go to cali every year (I buy my halloween costume out there) so we must go. still feel pretty bad about it. especially with my family paying so much for our wedding. we figured it's our last vacation together before we are husband & wife. plus it will be nice to have a whole week just us two together.
we probably shouldn't go, and save for gifts, etc. but I had a free ticket from jet blue lol so I lose it if we cancel. plus it will be so nice to relax in cali.

Yes! and no! lol I've worked soo hard the past few months I know I need it. I just know when I get back from Disney, we cant spend a dime on uselessness. Im putting myself on a budget of $30-40 a week to spend on gas and food. Every other penny from my checks are going to wedding stuff and the savings. Sometimes you just have to sacrifice to get what you want.
I just wish we wouldve went somewhere less expensive than Disney, but oh well I LOVE it there.
